About the Role

The Manager, PMO leads a team of Project Managers and Program Managers, owning delivery performance, professional development, and accountability to the PMO's standard of excellence across the team. This is a player-coach role — you'll manage people and carry an active delivery portfolio of your own. You report directly to the Director, PMO.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and supervise a team of Project Managers and Program Managers, holding the team to Neptune PMO's delivery standard.
  • Own project hygiene across your team — schedules, status updates, and tracking artifacts stay accurate and trustworthy.
  • Coach direct reports through specific, behavioral feedback grounded in real performance.
  • Serve as the escalation point for team-level delivery, resource, and performance issues.
  • Hire and appraise your direct reports; advise on pay reviews; partner with the Director on any termination or performance improvement plan.
  • Carry your own delivery portfolio as a contributing practitioner.
  • Report accurate, risk-aware portfolio status up to PMO leadership.

What You'll Need

  • 15+ years of program delivery experience.
  • 10+ years in a management or leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Field (Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, IT).
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and team leadership with a focus on development.
  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management methodologies.
  • Comfort with budget, cost, and profitability management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to establish and manage a high-performance team.

Nice to Have

  • PMP or PgMP certification.
  • Experience with wireless technologies, software development, or electrical engineering.
  • Ability to influence without formal authority across a matrix organization.
