Job Description

Wanting to make an impact in your next role? Join our team as a Transformation Manager. The Transformation Manager will be responsible for setting the roadmap of operations and supply chain improvements for the plant as well as coordinating, enabling and (sometimes) executing the improvement plan. Additionally, the Transformation Manager will be responsible for LEAN training and building a culture of continuous improvement at the plant. This individual will have a strong partnership with the Operations Manager to help improve the overall efficiencies within the facility. This opportunity has great visibility and opportunity for tangible impact.

Responsibilities

  • Create/grow culture of aggressive, tangible, bottom line improvements
  • Create an environment where problem solving thrives daily at the cell level
  • Continuously evaluate plant value stream maps, metrics, and strategic goals to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities (operations and supply chain)
  • Utilize Worthington Business System (WBS) and partner with plant management
  • Work with Operations Manager to build and maintain an aggressive plant improvement plan
  • Coordinate plant resources to execute plant improvement plan
  • Train plant employees on basic lean tools and kaizen methodology
  • Continuous development and coaching of plant employees
  • Coach and facilitate MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) daily and hourly performance management and development of problem solving A3

Desired Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of operations, supply chain, integrated planning, or plant engineering experience and/or 3+ years of experience as a lean practitioner
  • Strong communications and change management skills; must be able to influence shop floor employees and managers
  • Ideal candidate would be currently within the Worthington family of businesses and familiar with current culture, trends, and initiatives
  • Short- and long-term project management skills
  • Lean understanding and experience preferred
  • Ability and disposition to respectfully challenge status quo
  • Inspire and ability to influence without authority
  • Proven track record of developing teams
  • Ability to facilitate hands-on training
