Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Manager, Perioperative and Procedural Assets with Perioperative and Procedural Services at our Hyde Park location.

The Manager, Perioperative and Procedural Assets provides oversight for asset management and logistics across Perioperative and Procedural Services. This role provides operational leadership including process redesign and improvement, workflow and logistics analysis, equipment management, and capital planning. The Manager collaborates with clinical and operational leadership, Medical Directors, Ambulatory Administrators, and other key stakeholders to support operational and strategic initiatives related to asset management and logistics.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads process redesign activities related to equipment and the physical procedural space.
  • Supervises Equipment Coordinators, administers and implements department policies, standards and procedures, and organizes department operations and workflows.
  • Ensures assets flow to the appropriate areas as needed.
  • Oversees troubleshooting of equipment throughout Perioperative and Procedural areas and develops metrics to track equipment failure trends.
  • Manages the capital asset acquisition process, develops annual capital plans, and works with key stakeholders to determine needs.
  • Manages the requisition process for non-capital, non-supply chain needs and ensures shipping and receiving are appropriately tracked and documented.
  • Partners with Supply Chain to manage service and maintenance agreements for assets in Perioperative and Procedural Services.
  • Performs other duties as requested by senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of administrative experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency and advanced skills in computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications.
  • Working knowledge of patient satisfaction metrics and data analysis.
  • Understanding of budgeting processes and profit and loss concepts.
  • At least three (3) years of customer service experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish departmental and organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field.
  • Previous scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, and Kronos Workforce.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
