Job Description
The Manager, Payroll Systems & Data Analytics is a hands-on role responsible for supporting Oracle HCM Payroll functional operations and contributing to data and analytics solutions. This role partners closely with Payroll, HR, IT, and Data/Analytics teams to help ensure accurate payroll execution, compliant system configurations, and effective reporting across the organization.
This position combines payroll expertise with data and reporting skills to support system configuration, maintenance, and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will contribute to reliable payroll system operations while assisting in the development of data solutions that support reporting and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Reporting Support
- Design and contribute to development of data structures and reporting solutions
- Build and maintain data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric (Dataflows, Pipelines, Notebooks, Lakehouse)
- Develop and optimize Delta tables using Python/PySpark
- Assist in creating and maintaining datasets and semantic models for enterprise reporting
- Integrate data across multiple systems into a unified reporting layer
- Establish and enforce data modeling standards, governance practices, and data quality controls
Reporting & Analytics Enablement
- Develop and manage Power BI solutions, including:
- Semantic models
- Dataset optimization
- Report performance tuning
- Leverage SQL Server to design and optimize complex queries and data transformations
- Deliver scalable, high-performance reporting solutions that enable enterprise-wide insights
Oracle HCM Payroll Systems & Functional Support
- Lead and support the design, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle HCM Payroll components
- Earnings and deductions (pay elements)
- Garnishments
- Federal, state, local, and RUIA tax configurations
- Retirement plans (e.g., 401(k))
- Payroll balances
- Develop and maintain Fast Formulas to support payroll calculations
Evaluate all system changes for financial impact, accuracy, and compliance
Support payroll processing cycles including testing, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution
- Manage defects and service requests in collaboration with Oracle and internal technical teams
Governance, Compliance & Integrations
- Ensure strict adherence to change control and governance processes, including documentation and audit readiness
- Serve as lead and support for integrations between Oracle Fusion Payroll and external systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, benefits providers, financial platforms)
- Support adoption and testing of user interface enhancements (e.g., Tax Engine, Oracle Redwood)
- Assist with impact analysis and regression testing for quarterly Oracle releases
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support best practices for data governance, naming conventions, and documentation across systems and platforms
- Partner with Payroll, HR, IT, Finance, and Data teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Drive operational efficiency, process improvements, and innovation across payroll systems and analytics
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in data/reporting roles and/or Payroll HCM systems support
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Payroll HCM systems support and/or data/reporting roles
Expertise in:
- Experience and working knowledge of payroll processing and integrations
- Experience working in regulated environments with strong governance and audit controls
- Background supporting enterprise-scale payroll operations and analytics environments

This role offers an annual salary range based on experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary we provide an annual bonus opportunity.
