Job Summary

Manages the operations of the organization's payroll functions

Essential Job Duties

  • Manages the punch/flag to complete payroll process including On Cycle and On Demand payment processing using the “Payroll App” and Workday.
  • Ensures processing documentation is up to date and followed by Payroll Specialists
  • Reviews payroll processing audit reports, reconciliations and other processing controls prior to executing the Complete and Settlement process
  • Executes Payroll App integration upon completion of processing
  • Monitors and reports processing metrics to assess accuracy and timeliness
  • Manages the assignment of cases/tickets across the Payroll Specialists to insure timely and appropriate resolution
  • Provides training and implements cross training plan to develop the Payroll Specialists and ensure operational continuity
  • Oversees the performance of the Payroll Specialists, provides feedback and coaching
  • Identifies payroll processing improvement opportunities, works with stakeholder to assess impact/buy in then develops implementation plan
  • Supports the testing of new Payroll functionality, new earning/deduction codes and other changes
  • Resolves complex, highly sensitive or extraordinary issues escalated from the Payroll Specialist

Skill/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years related experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to foster teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid organizational and follow up skills
  • Analytical skills
