You will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end in-house payroll processing for the US and Canada regions using Oracle Fusion and ADP SmartCompliance. This role combines strong technical payroll expertise with operational execution, analytical capabilities, and cross-functional leadership. You will independently own complex matters from identification through implementation and help shape how our organization manages payroll operations at scale.

What You'll Do

End-to-End Payroll Operations & Execution

  • Handle end-to-end in-house payroll processing for the US and Canada regions.
  • Execute and oversee payroll operations utilizing Oracle Fusion for core processing and ADP SmartCompliance for tax, garnishments, and agency payments.
  • Manage regular, off-cycle, year end and retroactive payroll runs accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Ensure the accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, equity transactions, and deductions.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Define team KPIs, conduct performance evaluations, and manage resource allocation for the NAMER payroll operations.
  • Exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, developing recommendations and determining when matters require escalation or broader alignment.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Provide payroll oversight and technical guidance for US federal, state, and local, as well as Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
  • Partner with Payroll and other operational teams to ensure compliance requirements are appropriately reflected in payroll processes, systems, and controls.
  • Oversee year-end processing and reporting obligations, including W-2s, T4s, and RL-1s.
  • Identify and assess payroll risks through data analysis, process reviews, and partnership with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, technical positions, controls, and governance.

Process Improvement, Data & Technology

  • Act as the system subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen payroll processes and controls.
  • Use payroll, employee, and compensation data to identify trends, exceptions, potential exposures, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Technology and other teams to translate payroll requirements into system and process requirements.
  • Explore and apply automation and other technology solutions to improve payroll analysis, compliance, controls, and stakeholder support.

Global Programs & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build strong relationships across Payroll, Tax, People, Legal, Global Mobility, Equity, Benefits, Accounting, Finance, and Technology.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex payroll matters within NAMER.
  • Partner with Accounting on complex reconciliations and issues involving payroll tax filings, tax payments, payroll records, and financial accounts.
  • Translate complex payroll requirements into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Overall 12+ years of relevant experience in payroll operations within a multinational organization or similarly complex environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct team managing experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience handling end-to-end payroll operations for the US and Canada regions.
  • Extensive experience processing in-house payroll using Oracle Fusion.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ADP SmartCompliance for tax filing, garnishments, and compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US federal, state, local, and Canadian provincial payroll requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to work the expected shift timing of 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
