ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a newly created role to support our growing team.

NP Digital Australia (NPD) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and high-energy Manager, Paid Media to lead our performance media efforts. This is a senior leadership position designed for a "big picture" thinker who possesses a high marketing IQ and the technical depth to oversee complex ad platform strategies.

The ideal candidate has 5–6 years of experience in digital marketing and a proven track record of managing high-value client initiatives. You will be responsible for tying paid media results to overarching business objectives while mentoring a team of direct reports to achieve excellence. This role offers significant scope for professional growth as we expand our APAC footprint.

This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2–3 days per week onsite in Melbourne. To be considered, candidates must currently reside and be eligible to work in Australia.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Paid Media, the Manager, Paid Media is responsible for the strategic health of their book of business and the professional development of their team.

  • Strategic Oversight Own the tactic strategy across a book of business and coordinate with other channel leaders to ensure integrated client success
  • People Management Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of 1–3 direct reports, including Managers and Specialists
  • Performance Leadership Develop creative testing roadmaps and participate in high-level creative briefing and performance readouts
  • Client Advocacy Act as the primary strategic partner for C-level client contacts, providing independent guidance and growth projections
  • Department Growth Assist in the development of standard processes, procedures, and training modules to improve agency efficiency

Advanced Strategy & Execution

  • Develop high-level tactic strategies and oversee the strategy development work of Managers and Execs to ensure brand and content goals are met
  • Expertly use media briefs to make strategic recommendations for new campaigns and incremental growth
  • Oversee deep-dive audience and vertical research using syndicated data tools to inform long-term client roadmaps
  • Build advanced projections and forecasting calculations pertaining to incremental client growth and market expansion

Financial & Operational

  • Full accountability for client budgets across an assigned tactic, including the final QA of budgets managed by Execs
  • Mastery of budget pacing calculations and implementation of strategic adjustments based on real-time performance data
  • Use QA checklists and maintenance of client Change Logs to ensure 100% accuracy in campaign execution across the team

Leadership & Talent Management

  • Facilitate regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports to discuss career pathing, skill development, and performance
  • Lead the performance review process for assigned team members, including the implementation of performance improvement plans if necessary
  • Lead bi-weekly specialty team meetings and identify skills gaps to implement relevant training sessions

Communication & Reporting

  • Communicate complex campaign data clearly to C-suite stakeholders
  • Lead cross-departmental communication with Creative, SEO, and Analytics teams to deliver cohesive marketing solutions
  • Deliver high-level quarterly business reviews (QBRs) that identify data trends and provide actionable strategic insights

Platform Mastery

  • Expert-level knowledge of Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Microsoft Ads
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio for deep-funnel attribution analysis
  • Final point of escalation for technical troubleshooting, including pixel configuration and server-side tracking issues

ABOUT YOU

  • 5–6 Years of hands-on experience in Paid Search and Social
  • Proven experience managing high-value client initiatives and multi-million dollar annual spends
  • Deep knowledge of eComm, Lead-Gen, and Retail marketing tactics
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused, action-oriented mindset
  • Must have full Australian working rights
