About the client

Our client is a well-established organization in the maritime and shipping industry, recognized for delivering professional marine, shipping, and risk management solutions while maintaining strong partnerships within the global maritime sector.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our client's P&I team. The role involves handling complex maritime claims, coordinating with international P&I Clubs, vessel owners, legal experts, and maritime authorities, while ensuring exceptional service delivery and effective claims management within the shipping industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of P&I and maritime claims, ensuring effective coordination and resolution.
• Manage complex incidents including collisions, cargo damage, pollution, crew injuries, and disputes.
• Interpret surveyor reports and provide expert, value-driven recommendations.
• Liaise with P&I Clubs, lawyers, surveyors, government authorities, and medical institutions.
• Ensure full compliance with IG Club guidelines, HSSE, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.
• Support business development initiatives and identify new opportunities.
• Lead and mentor team members through training, supervision, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Qualification from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) or a Maritime Lawyer.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in shipping, P&I, or claims handling.
• Strong knowledge of maritime law, P&I operations, and claims processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex cases under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
• Knowledge of financial/management concepts will be an advantage.
• Willingness to be on-call during critical maritime incidents.
