Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

Plan; organize; review; implement strategies and monitor all sales and store operations activities in order to achieve targeted sales and profit objectives in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

SALES

  • Monitor; implement and review the sales strategies planned within each area/outlet specified to achieve the budgeted sales set by each specific area/ outlet
  • Propose and coordinate activities/ promotions/ new business that could create awareness and generate additional sales for each specific outlet/area to obtain
  • incremental sales in order to achieve the budgeted sales
  • Increase and develop the Tour Leader/ External contribution segment to promote the company through the Tour Leader/ External contribution in order to nature the
  • growth which contribute towards incremental of sales

INVENTORY

  • Formulate; plan; implement and monitor the inventory system planned in order to ensure availability of products to avoid out of stock situation and losses/ damages
  • which could jeopardize the company profitability
  • Formulate; develop; implement; review and monitor action plans to prevent loss of merchandise to avoid and minimize stock losses
  • Identify; recommend and source for the new range of products that specifically suit the outlet and customers’ needs to create awareness and attract additional sales
  • towards the sales budget

STAFFING & CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Plan; identify effectively recommend the required training on specific skill for the staff to ensure staff enable to implement the service in accordance to the company
  • standard
  • Review; revise and schedule the planned or existing training to upgrade and ensure training method and updating to staff are being updated on timely basis
  • Plan review and schedule the manpower requirement toward the services to be given to internal or external customer in accordance to the standard and budget set
  • by the company to create maximum sales opportunity and obtain loyalty from internal or external customer which directly rewards to the Company’s goal and
  • objective
  • Ensure service to customer is excellent to maintain customer loyalty

CASH HANDLING AND RECONCILIATION

  • Review; recommend; implement and monitor the cash handling and reconciliation procedures and policies are exercise and abided accordingly to ensure persistent
  • integrity and smooth flow on the process of cash handling and reconciliation with high accuracy and in accordance with the procedures and policies.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Oversee and perform the detail of management function related to overall policies and procedures; ensure the execution of policies and plan to ensure smooth
  • administration and documentation flow within the Operations
  • Prepare require report on the overall operations within the specific assigned area/outlet within specific deadline to brief; update and recommend on the needs
  • analysis and requirement that need to be done in order to improve / rectify on any operations matter that could improve profitability and reduce losses

Key Challenges

  • Uncertainty of airlines landing rights penetration into KLIA and other Airports which affects passenger statistics as buyer i.e. Code sharing, reduction on flight frequency
  • Monitor and administer the operations due to persistent change in regulatory procedures by local and external authorities i.e. Protection restrictions and by quotas by external nations which indirectly affects the purchasing power
  • Airport authority’s i.e. Customs regulations on duty free allowance (local & international) which limit the selling of duty free items
  • Uncertainty of travel industry i.e. War, Political instability, World economics, Pandemic
  • Human management (staff/ customers)
  • Stocks management (availability of stocks/ pilferage of stocks)
  • System management (front end & back end)

Skills

  • High degree of interpersonal and inter-relations skills
  • In depth product knowledge of specific area
  • Well groomed, mature and approachable

Relevant Industries

  • Degree holder with minimum CGPA 3.0 with minimum 5 years relevant experience

Education

Degree in Business Administration (Retail) or any related discipline
