About the role
Maersk Contract Logistics is seeking a Manager, Operations Excellence to lead and embed a strong culture of continuous improvement across multiple sites. This role is pivotal in strengthening operational standards across safety, quality, productivity, and performance, while enabling teams to deliver sustainable, measurable results.

The role partners closely with operations leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement Lean methodologies, and drive operational excellence programs aligned to strategic business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence initiatives across Health & Safety, 5S, visual management, and process optimisation

  • Lead deployment of labour and equipment management tools to improve efficiency and performance

  • Conduct site visits, operational reviews, and performance assessments to identify gaps and share best practices

  • Lead and implement Continuous Improvement programs including North Star initiatives across areas such as quality, resilience, warehouse standardisation, and business performance

  • Identify productivity gaps, eliminate waste, and implement improvement initiatives at both operational and customer levels

  • Facilitate CI workshops including VSM, process mapping, root cause analysis, FMEA, and 8D problem solving

  • Manage and track CI performance metrics, scorecards, and KPI outcomes to ensure measurable impact

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of improvement reports (Kaizen, A3, Quick Wins)

  • Coach, mentor, and develop operations teams on Lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques

  • Deliver training on 5S and Lean Six Sigma practices, supporting certification journeys

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and implementation

  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation

Who we’re looking for
This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong Lean mindset, thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate is collaborative, analytical, and confident in influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge and skills requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or 3PL environments, with strong exposure to continuous improvement frameworks

  • Proven experience implementing Lean methodologies in warehouse or shop-floor environments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Experience managing end-to-end CI projects, from opportunity identification to implementation and benefit tracking

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels

  • Excellent facilitation and training capabilities with strong presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Power BI, Power Apps or digital tools knowledge is an advantage

  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or PMP certification is advantageous

  • Willingness to travel across locations for project implementation as required
