We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Operations - Equities- Clearing and Settlements.

HSBC provides internal and external clients with a Global Execution and Clearing Service across Listed Derivatives Exchanges and OTC CCP markets. The Clearing function provides a complete support infrastructure for clients to access Listed and OTC Cleared products ranging from supporting daily clearing processes, risk management and control functions through to final contract maturity and settlement. The function is globally integrated with a wide range of functions operating from Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, Kuala Lumpur and Manila whom the successful candidate will have frequent interaction with.

HSBC Derivatives Clearing Services Operations (DCS) Cash Team is seeking a resource replacement that would be responsible in ensuring settlement of HSBC margins against the Central Counterparty Clearing House (CCP).

This is a key role for the continued development of the DCS business and will provide the role holder with opportunities to develop the Operational capabilities across the DCS operating centres.

The Opportunity:

The role holder will join the DCS Operations management function and will work closely with the Global and regional Operations lead to deliver a globally efficient and controlled operating model. Experience and knowledge in both Exchange Listed Derivatives and Cleared OTC products is required

The role will have direct functional, and entity reports for Cash Management function and will have direct peer interaction with regional entity leads based in the UK & Paris to deliver a cohesive and efficient global operating model.  

In this role, you will:

  • Perform daily payments and withdrawals to fulfill HSBC margin requirements to various Central Counterparty Clearing House (CCP)
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks, analysis and reporting as required by the business and represent the team in wider conversations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different locations to address operational gaps
  • Represent the team in meetings and discussions with other stakeholders to go through analyses, business issues and improvements
  • Ensure accurate processing of vouchers or ledgers to reflect interests, fees or charges associated to margins
  • Initiate process improvements to reduce manual processes within the team
  • Understand the risk and proper escalation based on the risk faced by the business

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Understanding the HSBC Futures offering and capabilities
  • Experience in Exchange Traded Derivatives and Cleared OTC derivatives is required
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • Solid operational risk and control mindset; able to make decisions when needed
  • Strong performance rating in previous job to showcase skill set
  • Initiated a process improvement in previous job or participated in a wider project with direct impact to the business
  • Ability to capably interface with a broad range of resources at various levels of seniority / experience and role diversity in multiple geographies
  • Strong risk assessment, control and testing skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion, work independently within broad guidelines, tactfully handle sensitive and confidential data and complete assignments on timely basis

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
