What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Associate Director, Operations Delivery & Readiness, the Manager, Operations Delivery & Facility Readiness is responsible for leading the operational readiness, activation, and transition (ORAT) of new and redeveloped airport infrastructure.

You will oversee the planning and execution of readiness programs to ensure that facilities are fully integrated into airside, terminal, baggage, and groundside operations. This role plays a critical leadership function in coordinating stakeholders, managing operational risks, and ensuring new assets meet all regulatory, safety, and operational requirements within a live airport environment.

As a Manager, Operations Delivery and Facility Readiness, you will:

  • Lead operational readiness, activation, and transition (ORAT) programs for small and large scale airport projects.
  • Prioritize competing operational readiness activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment to safety, regulatory, and operational imperatives.
  • Plan, direct, and execute readiness trials to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure into live operations.
  • Chair cross functional steering committees and working groups.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership on operational readiness strategies and prioritization trade-offs.
  • Develop and implement procedures to support safe and effective transition of new airport assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Airside, Terminals, Baggage, Groundside) to assess operational impacts and readiness.
  • Partner with engineering, construction, and project teams to ensure mitigation plans are in place for live environment operations.
  • Engage airlines, government agencies, and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and minimize disruption.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in airport operations for design reviews and operational feasibility assessments.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a large scale aviation environment (airport or airline), with leadership (direct or indirect) experience.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing operational readiness, integration, or complex operational programs.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, make decisions under pressure, and manage competing deadlines in a fast paced, operationally critical environment.
  • Proven experience balancing multiple stakeholders, risks, and timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of airport operations, including airside, terminal, and groundside activities.
  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks such as Canadian Aviation Regulations and aerodrome standards is an asset.
  • Post secondary education in Aviation Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar designation is an asset.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and leadership capabilities in a customer focused environment.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

The GTAA is committed to Employment Equity and maintaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

This position is exempt from Ontario's 2026 pay transparency requirements under Regulation 476/24.
