Job Description

At Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, we fight for every child. With 350+ pediatric specialists and subspecialists, 14 years of U.S. News & World Report national rankings and innovations that draw patients from all over the world, we're driven to replace fear with hope, and doubt with answers. We believe in the possibility of every child's future.

Our Pediatric oncology and hematology team delivers personalized care. Our Ethie Haworth Children’s Cancer Center is nationally recognized for excellence and innovation with its access to the latest treatments, the region’s only blood and bone marrow transplant program, dozens of clinical trials, and more.

Beyond advanced medical care, our kid-friendly support services ensure every child and family feels seen, supported, and empowered during their journey. Your child will have access to child life specialists, teachers and school support, art and music therapy, and many other dedicated programs, resources, and volunteers.

Because it's only impossible until it isn't.

Cellular therapies

Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is home to the region’s only pediatric blood and bone marrow transplant and cellular therapy program. These therapies can provide life-saving treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, bone marrow failure, severe immune deficiencies, nerve and brain tumors, and other rare diseases.

Available treatments include:

  • Allogenic stem cell therapies
    • The transplant of stem cells from a donor’s blood, bone marrow, or umbilical cord blood.
  • Autologous stem cell therapies
    • The transplant of stem cells from the patient’s own healthy blood.
  • CAR T-cell therapy
    • In this treatment, doctors take a sample of white blood cells, modify them to target cancer cells, and return them to the child’s blood. It can be an effective treatment for some leukemias.
  • Gene therapy
    • These treatments allow doctors to modify a child’s genes to treat disease. We currently offer gene therapy for sickle cell anemia and transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia.

We're seeking an experienced oncology professional with deep expertise in hematology and oncology. Pediatric oncology experience is a strong advantage. Successful candidates will have a track record of leadership and the ability to influence, mentor, and guide others in a clinical setting.
