Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 Base+Commission/year
Travel Percentage: 25%The Manager Operations, Atlantic Region is responsible for driving operational performance, business growth, and service excellence across Eastern Canada, with a primary focus on Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces. This role serves as the regional operational and business lead, supporting the development, execution, and optimization of a responsive and high-quality Maritimes IME program.
The position provides leadership across operational processes, assessor recruitment, client engagement, and regional business development, while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations. The Manager Operations, Atlantic Region works closely with national and provincial stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery, strong market presence, and sustained growth.
The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be located in the Halifax, NS area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational processes and procedures aligned with company standards.
- Collaborate with Ontario and national operations teams to resolve issues and ensure optimal service delivery for Maritimes clients and assessors.
- Partner with the Director, National Physician Relations to recruit assessors for all Medhealth companies across the Maritimes.
- Onboard, and support local assessors across Nova Scotia and the Maritime provinces.
- Coordinate and support travel assessors entering the province as needed
- Lead day-to-day operational performance for Eastern Canada, ensuring service quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Ensure operations remain compliant with all applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations.
- Review operational results and key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and alignment with business objectives.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, training programs, and process improvements as required.
ESSENTIAL MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide guidance, coaching, and operational support to assessors and support staff.
- Establish and develop support staff based out of the Halifax office as required to ensure assessors are effectively supported.
- Conduct outreach to existing and prospective clients as requested and as required to support growth.
- Actively promote and “sell” IME services across applicable market segments, including Workers’ Compensation, Disability Management organizations, Auto insurers, Disability carriers, employers and government agencies.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with referral sources and market partners.
- Establish professional working relationships with competitors to expand IME referral opportunities where appropriate.
- Represent SOMA and MedHealth at trade shows, industry conferences, networking events, and community business initiatives to strengthen brand presence and recruit clients and assessors.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
- Serve as the primary regional point of contact for Eastern Canada business units.
- Communicate pertinent operational updates, service challenges, and market feedback to national leadership.
- Participate in and contribute to management, planning, and operational meetings as required.
- Deliver presentations to internal and external audiences via in-person meetings, phone, or virtual platforms.
- Encourage a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment.
- Assist with performance feedback, coaching, corrective actions, and employee development when required

QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in operations leadership, business development, or management
- Strong understanding of claims management, IME's, disability management, workers' compensation, insurance, or related healthcare services is preferred
Certificates & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel by air and vehicle as required.
