What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Director, Operations Finance, the Manager, Operations Finance leads the accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of residences, overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial results, contributing to budgeting and forecasting to align with organizational objectives, and supporting interim and year‑end audits. The role also supports integration activities related to acquisitions and developments, maintains strong internal controls, and drives system and process improvements across the Operations Finance function.

Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of accountants and analysts that support a portfolio of owned and managed residences and/or communities, including the mentorship of CPA students on the team.
  • Support team engagement through the promotion of the company’s purpose, vision and values.

Operations Finance Support

  • Lead financial operations for a portfolio of residences, overseeing full-cycle accounting, month‑end close, and the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial results, including management reporting packages.
  • Partner with Operations to achieve financial and business goals by providing proactive KPI analysis, identifying trends, advising on risks/opportunities, and ensuring alignment with financial strategy.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes to enable accurate planning and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and lead system/process improvements, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, leading new system implementations, and driving continuous improvement in financial accuracy, efficiency, and insight.
  • Manage regulatory and audit requirements by reviewing regulatory updates, adjusting reporting processes to meet evolving requirements, and supporting interim/year‑end audits and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Lead and/or support the integration of new acquisitions and/or developments, as needed.
  • Perform other duties and support ad‑hoc projects as assigned.

Who you are:

Work Experience / Education / Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipli ne with a Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (Canadian).
  • Experience working in Big 4 or Public Accounting Firm is required or demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong people management skills (ideally 1 to 2 years) and able to prioritize, delegate and manage a team of diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in long-term care or health care industries is considered an asset.

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Self‑motivated with a strong sense of urgency; able to learn quickly, solve problems, and work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven relationship‑building skills, effectively working across multiple levels of management and operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, SQL, and business intelligence tools is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.

  • Salary Range: $80,839 - $101,049 **Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity**
