
The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Manager on Duty to join our team.

As the Manager on Duty, you will oversee branch operations and administration by ensuring staff and members are in compliance with all YMCA policies and practices, supervising branch staff, and responding to emergencies and member incidents.

Tuesdays | 7-9:45pm
Fridays | 5-9:45pm
Sundays | 12-4:15pm

Qualifications
Manager On Duty Job
The Manager on Duty oversees center operations and administration in the absence of YMCA Management staff during their assigned shift. This includes, but is not limited to, basic building supervision, ensuring staff and members are in compliance with YMCA policies and practices, and responding to emergencies and member incidents. Provides a quality experience to members focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Represents the YMCA and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.
Key Responsibilities
·Provide supervision of YMCA facilities, staff, members and guests in the absence of management staff. Ensures that all members, guests and staff follow the YMCA Code of Conduct.
·Provide rest and meal breaks to staff and lifeguards as required.
·Respond to incidents, accidents, behavioral concerns and other safety and emergency situations, using crisis management plan, and following up with a detailed accident/incident report.
·Walk through the entire facility on an ongoing basis to ensure safety guidelines and cleanliness standards are maintained and member's needs are being met.
·Opens and/or closes the facility as per established hours, making sure the facility is empty and secure at closing times.
·Ensure emergency procedures are followed, and notify supervisor of any incidents, accidents, and behavior concerns immediately.
·Provide customer service to current and prospective members by giving tours, and assisting all member services staff with member or guest questions and concerns.
·Provide an understanding of the YMCA's mission, goals, objectives, and programs to all members.
·Inform Director of staff or member related code of conduct issues or problems that occurred.
·Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
·Respond to facility maintenance needs in an appropriate manner.
·Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
·Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting center events.
·Staff are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE.
·Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
·Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
·Minimum of 20 years of age or older.
·High school graduate or equivalent required
·Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive environment.
·Positive attitude and previous experience with and diverse populations.
·Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment and decision making skills.
·Relevant knowledge and experience, especially in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity is preferred.
·Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, Oxygen and YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguarding certifications.
·Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.

·Regularly required to talk or hear.
·Required to walk and stand for long periods of time.
·Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
·Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
·Must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move a higher amount.
·Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
·Occasionally may need to plan and participate in programming outdoors.
