Home of the Innocents is seeking a dedicated Manager of Respiratory Therapy to lead our Respiratory Therapy team within the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center. In this role, you'll provide leadership, clinical oversight, and operational support to ensure safe, compassionate, evidence-based care for residents with complex respiratory needs. A Day in the Life
As the Manager of Respiratory Therapy, you'll oversee the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy department, providing leadership, staff development, and clinical guidance. You'll collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality respiratory care, regulatory compliance, and positive resident outcomes while supporting a culture of excellence, wellness, empowerment, and compassion.
Schedule: Full-time, exempt position with participation in an on-call rotation, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Flexibility is required to support a 24/7 healthcare environment, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
How This Position Contributes to Our Mission
• Lead Respiratory Therapy operations and clinical services
• Supervise, coach, and develop Respiratory Therapists and School Respiratory Therapists
• Ensure safe, high-quality respiratory care and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
• Support quality improvement, infection prevention, and resident safety initiatives
• Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll, and departmental resources
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelors in Respiratory Care or Similar
• Current, unencumbered Kentucky Respiratory Therapist license and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Three years of direct care experience in acute care, rehabilitation, LTAC, or long-term care settings
• One year of leadership or supervisory experience
• Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
• Experience with EHR systems and regulatory compliance
• Ability to participate in on-call responsibilities as needed
