GENERAL DUTIES

• Transports hospital patients by studying patient service schedules and planning movement schedules.
• Ensures accurate and timely dispatch of transport requests to ensure effective patient care. Ensures all vehicles are safe, clean and legally compliant.
• Coordinates schedules for drivers and patients needing transportation.
• Meets hospital patient transport financial objectives by estimating requirements and contributing to the development of annual budget.
• Orders transports oxygen tanks to have a supply on hand for the transporters to use for patients.
• Ensures collection of the wheelchairs from around the hospital and returning them to the designated areas.
• Receives, records, responds to feedback from patients and visitors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent AND 1 year of experience in Inpatient Services.
• 2 years of work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Required: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association (TOURO / WJMC)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills/interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of the E-Time system.
• Preferred: Ability to utilize multitasking skills.
• Preferred: Ability to recognize potential problems.
