Manager of Nursing Programs (RN) — Sunrise Community Health Center, Citrus Heights

About WellSpace Health

WellSpace Health is the region's largest community health system, driven by the mission of achieving regional health through high-quality, comprehensive care. WellSpace serves the whole person through integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and supportive services — and is accredited by The Joint Commission in Ambulatory Care and Behavioral Health, certified as a Primary Care Medical Home and a Behavioral Health Home.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Dyad leadership model — you partner with the Clinical Director rather than reporting up a hierarchy
  • $30K+ benefits package — above-average health coverage at reduced cost, company-paid life and long-term disability, retirement match with no vesting requirement
  • Monday–Friday, no nights or weekends — adult primary care clinic setting, not a 24/7 unit, not acute
  • You keep your hands in patient care — this is a working manager role, not a desk job
  • Joint Commission accredited across Ambulatory Care and Behavioral Health, with Primary Care Medical Home certification
  • Professional development hours funded annually
  • Stable, mission-driven FQHC with a Confluence Model connecting FQHC, CCBHC, Drug Medi-Cal, and California's second-largest 988 Crisis Lifeline Center

Schedule

Monday–Friday, days. No nights, no weekends, no rotating shifts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $111,200 – $144,560 per year, full-time exempt

  • Voluntary retirement plan with company match — no vesting requirement
  • 11 paid holidays per year
  • Paid time off and paid sick leave
  • Paid bereavement and jury duty leave
  • Flexible Spending Program
  • Company-paid malpractice insurance
  • Professional development hours offered annually

What You'll Do

  • Provide operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for nursing programs and services
  • Partner in a dyad with the Clinical Director on quality, workflow, and staffing decisions
  • Oversee staffing, workflow optimization, performance management, employee development, and resource utilization
  • Lead QA/QI initiatives and maintain regulatory and Joint Commission readiness
  • Assign triage categories accurately and oversee medication administration and refill protocols
  • Serve as liaison among providers, pharmacies, patients, and families
  • Carry a direct and indirect patient care load alongside the nursing team
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff as a role model and advocate for nursing excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification

  • Knowledge of nursing practice standards, quality improvement methodology, risk management, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to successfully complete the credentialing process

Preferred

  • Experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), value-based care models, or population health programs
  • Previous nursing experience in Primary Care, Emergency Room, or Urgent Care
  • Experience with staff supervision, performance management, quality improvement, and clinical operations

Who Thrives Here

Nurses who want the leadership title without leaving patient care behind. People who are energized rather than drained by serving patients regardless of background, work, or where they call home — including patients who are unhoused, using substances, or living with complex chronic conditions.
