
This position is for a Manager of Logistics – Government Material, reporting to the Senior Manager of Logistics. The individual will have oversight and responsibility for the end-to-end material control process for the following programs: Onboard Repair Parts (OBRP) for both Virginia and Columbia programs (to include oversight of the Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL), pre-binning & ship load-out of OBRPs), Government Furnished Material/Equipment (GFM/GFE) and Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) material. The Columbia OBRP Program is still in its early phases of execution and extra focus will be required to ensure timeliness and accuracy in supporting first in class construction. This candidate will be responsible for all facilities, storing equipment and the upkeep, maintenance and cleanliness.
The position requires interface with Program Offices, Materials Management, Materials Services, Planning, Provisioning, Design (locker and stowage), Ships Force, NAVSEA, PMS450F, PMS397, and the Supervisor of Shipbuilding. This position will require a candidate who has experience with warehouse management & material control, material availability, pre-bin and load out process, design process including the ability to mitigate identified issues and work order management. This position requires an individual who can provide constant monitoring to ensure that all problems are identified early and resolved to support load out of the ship and/or construction on schedule. This is highly visible position that holds key signatures supporting ship certification. Weekly status meetings with NAVSEA and EB Program Office are required.
This Manager of Logistics for Government Material could oversee up to four supervisors and their teams. This candidate will work closely with the Manager of Logistics – Transportation & the Manager of Logistics – Warehousing to ensure all Logistics needs are met as we transition to new facilities and implement new technology we are all in alignment.
