
Function:
Information TechnologyThe Manager of IT Network Operations is responsible for leading the implementation and ongoing management of the enterprise’s Commercial (IT) and Operating Technology (OT) networks. The technology areas include wide and local area networks (WAN, LAN) with emphasis and network access control and reliability. The incumbent has accountability for the performance and results of a team of IT professionals. This position is viewed as a subject matter expert on IT network operations and provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and business leaders.
Major Responsibilities
Primary Interactions
Collaborate with Vendors to understand current product offerings and future direction of network technologies.
Collaborate with all IT Managers and Directors to ensure CF’s networks meet the needs of all IT Product Teams and enable seamless, cross-vertical interoperability
Assesses CF business strategy, long-term enterprise-wide technology standards and develops an appropriate network operating strategy.
Leads a Governance Council of IT leaders to define and approve the network strategy and future project roadmap.
May review and negotiate with vendors. May also be primary relationships owner with Suppliers.
Network Operations and Support
Strong foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure, SaaS (Software as a Service), Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.
Managing an insourced or outsourced Network Operations Center.
Design and troubleshoot network infrastructure to mitigate risk
Define enterprise level software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) and related infrastructure.
Design and troubleshoot network configurations and access control rules of cloud networks (e.g. Microsoft Azure) as well as on-premises and hybrid environments.
Design Intrusion Detection and Prevent Systems (IDS/IPS).
Work closely with IT site leads at various locations in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. to ensure network solutions are operating as expected.
Understand and comply with established processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts, including Change Control procedures across all modifications to the environment. Identify to management internal controls deficiencies.
Organization, Administration and Personnel Management
Assess, develops, retains, and recruits IT talent that will support the ongoing needs of the business
Manages and assigns personnel; devises and evaluates the staff's work; and prepares performance evaluations
Coach and mentor subordinates, identifies training needs and recommends development programs.
On call support outside of business hours will be required. Safety training may also be required.
Supervisory Relationships:
Position Reports To: Enterprise Manager, IT
Subordinate Positions:
IT Network Administrators and Architects.
May supervise contractors.
Incumbent Attributes:
Education: BS/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions. Network certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) CompTIA Network+ are desired
Years of Experience: At least 5 years of related professional experience is typically required to complete all essential job functions. Prior experience supervising staff is required.
Other unique job relevant attributes: Experience with and responsibility for one technology and/or technical function. Implement new technologies from established vendors
Position Scope/Contribution:
Breadth of scope: Scope is typically based on a single functional area or but may manage multiple functional areas. Typically provides broad coordination across functions given the nature of a second level manager. Impact is generally limited to functions managed however may vary based on the specific role.
Communication and Interpersonal skills: Regularly communicates both in writing and verbally. Communicates with broad range of contacts. Information exchanged requires advanced knowledge in multiple areas. Moderate influence and persuasion are expected, particularly with regard to subordinates
Complexity: Able to solve typical problems that are encountered. Able to diagnose most situations by interpreting data and comparing to similar scenarios. Work involves detailed planning of own activities and immediate work team. May involve resource planning beyond work team. Advanced level of logical reasoning and critical thinking are required.
Decision making authority: Decisions are complex and impact area(s) managed and possibly impact areas not directly managed. More independent judgment is expected and used. Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function. Receives guidance and oversight from manager.
Financial Accountability: Given the size and scope of the function, revenue and expense are impacted based on the manager’s performance and results of oneself and those managed.
Strategic Influence: Primarily impacts the execution and achievement of short-term strategies through employees directly and indirectly managed. May also participate in the execution and achievement of long-term strategies. Decisions made are likely to impact the business on a short-term basis.
The estimated base pay for the position is typically between $111,400 - 156,800
The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
