ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, budgeting, and evaluation of the Infrastructure Operations team, including assignment and direction of work, appraisal of performance, and resolution of problems.
- Responsible for the overall direction, scoping, estimation, budgeting, coordination, standardization, and execution of infrastructure projects in support of the System, with an ongoing focus on stewardship of the system’s resources.
- Responsible for proactive monitoring of infrastructure performance and utilization, and reports results to the leadership.
- Provides advanced technical support and functions as a mentor to lower-level analysts, willing to assist and/or train other team members when assistance is needed.
- Where necessary, participates in an after-hours support.
- Oversees the management and monitoring of backup systems, including remediation and documentation of issues.
- Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of successful relationships with the leadership of the system via a commitment to strong communication, appropriate usage of escalation, accountability for the department’s duties, and timely execution of tasks.
- Responsible for an ongoing pursuit of knowledge, necessary to improve the support provided to the System, through formal training, self-motivated informal research on industry related trends and breaking news.
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, or five years of work experience in infrastructure/server operations.
- Additional consideration is given to those possessing relevant certifications, such as:
- DRI International Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP)
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows desktop operating systems across computing platforms (e.g., laptops, tablets, and desktop computers).
- Ability to organize and manage multiple requests with frequently conflicting priorities.
- An advanced understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences via phone, email, and an internal ticketing system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Yes, with assistance from Director.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
