Responsibilities

Position Summary

Develops, administers, and continuously improves Flight Operations policies, procedures, manuals, and Operations Specifications to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. Collaborates with Flight Operations leadership, Safety, Training, Maintenance, Dispatch, Ground Operations, and Inflight to align operational processes and drive consistency across the operation. Evaluates operational data, regulatory changes, safety trends, and identified risks to recommend and implement procedural enhancements that support safe and efficient flight operations. Leads technical programs and personnel responsible for operational documentation, regulatory compliance, standardization, and continuous operational improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implements programs necessary for continued and improved flight operations. Regularly collaborates with other departments such as Safety, Ground Ops, Inflight, Maintenance, and Dispatch.
  • Serves as supplemental point of contact with the FAA and other external organizations that may affect PSA's operational procedures.
  • Identifies and analyzes operational data for potential safety risks and recommends corrective actions. Performs duties as directed by the Assistant Director of Flight Operations Technical.
  • Complies with applicable company policies, procedures and FARs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the flight department and company.
  • Acts as liaison between the Flight Ops and other Company departments and alliance partners.
  • Works closely with the Director of Flight Operations, 119 Chief Pilot to ensure our FOM aligns with company policy and FAA operations specifications.
  • Works closely with Maintenance Operations Control to ensure alignment with Maintenance and Pilot procedures as it relates to aircraft irregularities.
  • Works in cooperation with the Development, Training and Safety Departments, including ASAP and FOQA, to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years’ experience developing, interpreting, and maintaining policies, procedures, manuals, technical publications, and regulatory documentation while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and version control.
  • Experience in Part 121 airline operations, flight operations, training, technical operations, safety, or a related aviation function.
  • Experience with programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Associate's or higher degree.
  • ATP with CL-65 Type Rating.
  • 121 Line experience.
  • PSA Line Experience as a Captain.
  • One or more of: Sim Instructor/LCA/PCA/APD Experience/Flight Ops Tech Experience.
  • Experience in pilot training and standardization functions: development, delivery and/or management perspective.
  • Experience with FrameMaker.

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Assistant Director of Flight Operations Technical.
