About the Position
We are seeking a Manager of Financial Services to join our collaborative team environment. The Manager of Financial Services will serve as the functional expert, working closely with the Assistant Financial Manager, Financial Supervisors, and both internal and external departments to support ongoing business operations while taking a lead role within the organization.
About Us
The Maricopa County Treasurer is responsible for collecting all real and personal property taxes for the nation’s 4th largest County with over 1,700 taxing districts that include state, County, incorporated cities and towns, schools, community colleges, and special districts. Financial Services is responsible for ensuring all amounts collected are distributed to the proper taxing district.

We Require
Five years of professional-level finance experience
Two years of supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
We Also Value
Active Certified Public Accountant license
Experience working in County departments, schools, and special district financial activities
Job Contributions
Administers all financial operations of the Treasurer’s Office.
Maintains knowledge of property taxation as well as accounting/auditing principles and best practices.
Validates and approves cash transfers.
Reviews investment journal entries for reasonableness.
Performs complex accounting work for the county, school districts, special districts, and other related government entities.
Develops unit policies and procedures for operational processes, standards, internal controls, and performance measures.
Establishes and maintains relationships with external vendors, taxpayers, auditors, governmental entities, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in a typical, indoor office environment.
Must have manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment.
Must manage frequent interruptions, time pressures, high work volumes, multiple and complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, team-oriented activities, prompt decision-making, and interaction with government officials and the public.
Must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior, and a professional demeanor.
