Role Overview

The Lead, Externded Workforce – Regional is responsible for owning and governing Applied Materials’ extended workforce program across the region. This leader ensures compliance, operational excellence, workforce agility, and risk discipline while building and leading a high‑performing team that supports a complex and fast‑growing business.

This role serves as the regional authority for extended workforce operations and is a key partner to Strategic sourcing teams, HR, Legal, Finance, IT, and business leaders

What You Will Do

Regional Program & People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional Extended Workforce operations team.
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and accountability across the team.
  • Ensure consistent execution of global Extended workforce policies, processes, and controls.
  • Act as escalation point for complex workforce, compliance, or supplier issues.

Extended Workforce Program Ownership

  • Own end‑to‑end regional execution of the Extended workforce lifecycle, including Staff Augmentation, independent contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Balance speed, cost, risk, and scalability to support business outcomes while protecting Applied’s enterprise interests.
  • Ensure visibility, governance, and audit readiness across the program.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Lead regional relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Vendor Management System (VMS) partners, and workforce suppliers.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to support supplier governance, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor SLAs, compliance trends, and service quality; drive corrective actions as needed.

Systems, Data & Operational Excellence

  • Serve as the regional SAP Fieldglass subject matter expert.
  • Support and govern integrations across Fieldglass, Workday, ServiceNow, and related enterprise platforms.
  • Guide the team in identifying data, workflow, and integration issues; partner with HRIS and IT on resolution.
  • Support UAT, releases, reporting, and automation initiatives to improve program efficiency.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure Extended workforce engagements comply with labor laws, worker classification standards , internal policies, and contractual requirements
  • Lead regional risk mitigation efforts related to co‑employment, misclassification, tenure, and regulatory exposure.
  • Partner closely with Legal and HR on audits, reviews, and policy interpretation.

Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to regional business leaders and hiring managers.
  • Guide teams in educating stakeholders on Extended workforce policies, tools, and expectations.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of process documentation, operational playbooks, and training materials

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5–7+ years in Extended Workforce Management, HR Operations, Procurement, or Workforce Governance.
  • Demonstrated people management experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and scale teams.
  • Strong knowledge of contingent workforce models, vendor management, and labor regulations
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP Fieldglass (VMS); Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and workforce reporting tools (e.g., Alteryx).
  • Experience operating in a large, global, matrixed organization across regions and cultures.
  • Program and change management experience; exposure to automation or AI‑enabled HR solutions is a plus.
