Job Scope
The Manager – Non-Pharma Commercial is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and market competitiveness of company's non-pharmaceutical portfolio. The role will lead category performance through strategic supplier partnerships, commercial negotiations, pricing optimization, assortment management, promotional planning, and inventory productivity initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to maximize sales, margins, and customer satisfaction while ensuring product availability across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and execute annual commercial plans for assigned non-pharma
categories, aligned with overall business objectives and growth targets. - Drive category sales, market share, profitability, and contribution through effective commercial strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities through category expansion, assortment optimization, new product introductions, and market trend analysis.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance assessments to identify opportunities and address performance gaps.
Supplier Relationship & Commercial Negotiations
- Lead strategic partnerships with key suppliers, distributors, and principals to secure favorable commercial terms.
- Negotiate pricing, rebates, trade agreements, promotional support, listing fees, and marketing investments to maximize profitability.
- Drive year-on-year margin enhancement through improved supplier terms and commercial initiatives.
- Evaluate supplier performance and develop action plans to improve service levels, product availability, and commercial outcomes.
Category Management & Pricing
- Develop category-specific pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, profitability, and customer value.
- Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to make datadriven pricing and assortment decisions.
- Optimize product assortment, product lifecycle management, and category mix to improve category productivity.
- Ensure effective product placement and merchandising strategies across retail and digital channels.
Promotions & Trade Marketing
- Lead the planning and execution of promotional calendars, seasonal campaigns, category events, and sales-driving initiatives.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Operations teams to deliver impactful campaigns that increase sales, customer traffic, and basket size.
- Assess promotion effectiveness and ROI, implementing learnings to improve future campaigns.
- Secure supplier funding and trade marketing investments to support commercial objectives.
Inventory & Supply Optimization
- Ensure high product availability across all stores while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Work closely with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to improve forecasting accuracy and replenishment effectiveness.
- Monitor inventory health, stock coverage, aging inventory, and stock turns to improve working capital efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to reduce stock-outs, excess inventory, and slow-moving stock.
Analytics & Performance Management
- Analyze category performance, sales trends, margins, and customer insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and performance reports to monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Present business performance updates, recommendations, and commercial insights to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance category profitability and operational efficiency.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in Category Management, Commercial Operations, Buying, Merchandising, Retail, FMCG, or Consumer Healthcare sectors.
- Proven track record of delivering sales growth, margin enhancement, and successful supplier negotiations.
- Strong understanding of retail economics, pricing strategies, inventory
management, and category management principles. - Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, Power BI, and commercial analytics tools.
