Zayo is seeking a Manager, Network Constructiontobe responsible forthe day-to-day activities of the fiberconstructionteams located in CA/CO and WA State. Thesearea-basedteams all perform their duties within the service territory and focus onvendor management, work orderexecution, construction,and restoration ofZayofiber networks and servicesthat are consistent with all defined standard operating processes and procedures.

Our Manager, Network Constructionworkswith all cross-functional areas on improving the quality of processes,deliverables,andthe end-to-end customer experience. Common activities will involve area data identification, collection, analysis, andreporting;along with understanding operational business functions and processesEach fiber constructionteam is expected tomaintainopen communication across all areas of the business and work as a unit with consistencywhilebuilding, implementing, andrestoring ormaintainingservices;cognizantof fostering the vision and values ofZayoOur Manager, Network Construction is accountable for delivering key KPIs for their area of responsibility including but not limited tofiber complete for small cell and installed enterprise revenue

*Location: Open to working remotely within the states of California, Washington or Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team ofSupervisors of Fiber Construction and Fiber Construction Managersin support of theDistrict(s) construction demands, Cap andmanagement, as well as KPIs

  • Work jointly with leadership fromNOC,Engineering, Field Operations, and Change management teams

  • Establish,monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflowsin order tomeasure operational performance,as well as,identifyand assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance

  • Maintain knowledge of technology in use, and/or underdevelopment for its impact or potential impact on the operational business process

  • Manage the assigned areas respective CAPEX budgets

  • Maintain quality service by understanding and enforcing organization standards

  • Develop and coach direct employees, as well asensuringsimilar opportunitiesthroughoutthe teamIdentifytraining gaps and create a career path for team members

  • Schedule and prioritize the workload of the fiberconstructionand external vendor resources within an assigned area

  • Developandimplementdistrict level longterm planning and resource planningto support future growth

  • Partner with utility and municipal providers to streamline permit application process

  • Manage team of leaders and individual contributors for the purposes of(including but not limited to)

  • Management of external vendors necessary fortimelycompletion and within budget

  • Initial constructionreviewsin accordance withproject specifications.

  • Oversee site construction, managing schedule,andresources on all projects

  • Ensure that all jobs aremaintainedin a project tracking system with complete accuracy.

  • Coordination of all permitting and licensing activities.

  • Development of permit and construction plans

  • Manage theVendor evaluation and selection process

  • Ensure all work is completedin accordance withZayoconstruction standards, processes, and proceduresAct as a key contributor to continued growth and improvement in each of these

  • Act asZayosafety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site ensuring compliance withZayosafetyprogramand related workmanship practices

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent,required

  • B.S in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction related fieldORequivalent work experience,required

  • A valid driver’s license,required

Experience/MinimumRequirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing large scale Fiber OSP and ISP development projects (i.e. site acquisition, zoning, permitting and construction management)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management including experience in budgeting and finance across multiple projects

  • Previous people management experience

  • Previous experience managing off-site teams, strongly preferred

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Proven people and project management skills

  • Strong background in and a good working knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure engineering, construction, and restoration methods

  • Familiarity with Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) installation standards and practices

  • Expertisein reporting as well as an understanding of workflows, customer needs, and underlying technology

  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability indeterminingthe root cause of problems and the base set of conditions for their occurrence;exhibitthe ability to assess the priority and severity of issues by understanding businessobjectives, technical costs, and user needs as well as weigh alternatives for resolution. Curiosity, initiative, and drive, along with the ability to quickly learnnew technology, and a willingness to think strategically and tactically will be critical to success in this position

  • Ability to diagnoseworkflowproblems and institute remedies

  • Possessand employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity

  • Ability tooperatein afast-pacedcustomer focused environment handling multiple priorities at a time, delivering quality service to diverse user groups and customers

Reports toDistrict Manager ofConstruction/Engineering

Title(s) of direct reports includes but not limited toSupervisor Fiber Construction, Senior Fiber Construction Manager, Fiber Construction Manager, Operations Coordinator

Working Conditions Couldberequiredto travel to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditionsup to 10% of the time.Traditionallyhowever,works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions90% of the time

Estimated Base Salary Range: $77,100 - $121,440 USD/annually

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
