The position

The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is one of Pakistan’s leading not-for-profit healthcare organizations. AKHS, P delivers quality healthcare services through an extensive network of hospitals, medical centers, health centers, and community-based programs across the country, with a strong focus on innovation, excellence, and patient-centered care.

The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is seeking an experienced Manager Monitoring & Evaluation for its Karachi Region, reporting to the Manager Program.

Summary of the Role

The Manager Monitoring & Evaluation oversees project implementation, monitors progress against approved protocols, objectives, and deliverables, and strengthens project monitoring and evaluation systems. The position develops monitoring tools, analyzes project data, prepares reports, and supports evidence-based decision-making. The role requires frequent travel to project sites in Karachi, Gilgit, and Chitral.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees project implementation and monitors progress against approved plans, protocols, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement effective monitoring and evaluation strategies, tools, and mechanisms to track project activities, progress, and deliverables.
  • Coordinates with project teams to ensure effective and timely implementation of project activities across all project sites.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes, and interprets project data and presents findings to support project monitoring and decision-making.
  • Conducts regular field visits to project sites to monitor implementation, assess progress, and support field-based project staff.
  • Identifies implementation gaps and coordinates with project teams to develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitors project activities and deliverables to ensure timely completion in accordance with approved plans and requirements.
  • Prepares weekly progress reports, detailed project reports, and presentations for project management and donors.
  • Monitors budgeted activities and coordinates with relevant teams to support timely implementation and achievement of project deliverables.
  • Supports the achievement of project objectives and KPIs through regular monitoring and performance tracking.
  • Supports the development of an evidence-based service delivery model for the elderly population in Pakistan.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

The requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, a health-related field, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of qualifications, skills, and relevant experience may also be considered, as deemed appropriate by AKHS, P, in accordance with the requirements of the position.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in healthcare, public health, development, or community-based projects. Experience in community health programs is preferred.
  • Previous experience in project monitoring and evaluation is an asset.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites is required.
