As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-impact team focused on data and machine learning platforms, supporting two pods and managing talented engineers. This role is pivotal in shaping product architecture, driving technical reviews, and fostering a collaborative environment. We seek a leader passionate about cloud innovation, who thrives on solving complex challenges and empowering teams to deliver customer-centric solutions. What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers across two pods, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Drive the design, architecture, and technical vision for scalable machine learning platform and end-end ML lifecycle management, ensuring best practices and high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to deliver scalable SaaS solutions that align with Guidewire’s mission and customer needs.
• Champion the adoption of AI, cloud, and data platform capabilities, embedding GenAI and automation into daily operations and product offerings.
• Guide the team through complex problem-solving, technical challenges, and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely and impactful delivery.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide career development coaching.

What you’ll bring
Required:

• Deep experience in ML Platform engineering and MLOps tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, Sagemaker)
• Deep understanding of cloud-based product development and SaaS architectures
• 12+ years of experience with minimum 3 years of technical leadership and team management abilities
• Experience managing and developing engineering teams, with strong ability to drive results and foster collaboration.
• Strong skills in design and architecture reviews, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Commitment to Guidewire’s values of determination, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

​ Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in the insurance technology domain or with large-scale enterprise SaaS products.
• Familiarity with GenAI, automation, and cloud-native development best practices.
