Job Description

Hapag-Lloyd AG is seeking a talented and experienced professional to join our Global Terminal & Transport Procurement department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the optimization of our transport services procurement, aligning with our high standards for cost, quality, and availability. You will provide guidance and support to procurement stakeholders worldwide, ensuring consistent processes and best practices.

  • Global optimization of strategic procurement for transport services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and availability.
  • Provide methodological and functional guidance to procurement stakeholders worldwide, promoting consistent processes and best practices.
  • Drive the end-to-end execution of the category strategy, including budget planning, tender support, and finalization.
  • Deliver advanced support to regional procurement organizations and local experts, especially for tender activities and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support regions during annual budget planning with market insights and validation of savings pipelines.
  • Execute and support strategic sourcing activities, including supplier strategy, tender design, negotiation, and contracting support.
  • Monitor and oversee global transport procurement KPIs, providing transparency and progress updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication with upper management and key stakeholders, actively managing interfaces with internal teams.
  • Proven experience in strategic procurement with a strong track record in cost management and optimization, preferably in transport/logistics categories.
  • Experience in implementing basic and advanced negotiation concepts, such as eAuctions, multi-round tenders, should-cost/benchmarking, and index-based mechanisms.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in global teams and coordinate stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, independence, and engagement, with a strong target orientation.
  • Very good analytical skills and business acumen, along with business-fluent English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with desirable skills in eProcurement, particularly 'Coupa'.
  • Availability for global travel as required.
