Sephora SEA’s omni channel business spans over 8 countries (Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) with 100+ stores and boasts some global flagships such as ION and Raffles City in Singapore, F88 in Kuala Lumpur and Pitt Street in Sydney. Sephora SEA is experiencing rapid growth in the region with new store openings and business channels (i.e., Click and collect and marketplace).

Manager, Merchandising Operations

The Brand Update & Activation Planning Manager will be responsible for driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the Merchandising department. This role will lead initiatives to optimize merchandising processes, manage key brand updates, and ensure seamless execution of strategic brand activation activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of process architecture expertise, cross-functional program management skills, and a proven ability to manage brand activation end to end process.

  • Animation Cycle & Pitch Process Management: Oversee and optimize the end-to-end animation cycle and pitch process, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Key Sales Moments Execution: Lead the operational execution of critical sales moments, such as holiday seasons, product launches, and other strategic initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment and flawless delivery.
  • Cross-Departmental Accountability for Brand Activation Initiatives Hold various departments accountable for their contributions and deliverables in supporting key brand activation initiatives, including animation, brand launch, holiday season planning, to ensure integrated and successful execution.
  • Fixture & VM Vendor Management: Manage relationships with all fixture and Visual Merchandising (VM) vendors, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.
  • Fixture Management (Brand, FOS table & Animation fixtures) Oversee the planning, procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all merchandising fixtures, including incubated brand fixtures, 'Front of Store' (FOS) tables, and animation-specific fixtures.


We would love to hear from you if you are/have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in merchandising operations, retail operations, or a similar field, with significant experience in fixture and visual merchandising management and cross-functional project leadership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Process Architecture Thinking: Demonstrated ability to analyze, design, and optimize complex operational processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions, particularly within a retail merchandising context.
  • Cross-Functional Program Management: Proven experience in leading and managing intricate cross-functional programs, effectively coordinating with diverse departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail Operations) to drive successful outcomes for brand activations and merchandising initiatives. This includes strong negotiation and influence skills to ensure accountability.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Exceptional ability to engage, align, and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaborative environments to achieve shared objectives.
  • Vendor Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship building, specifically for fixture and visual merchandising suppliers.
  • Merchandising Operations Project Management Experience (Plus): Direct experience in merchandising operations project management, including but not limited to event planning, animation execution, brand launches, and store openings, is highly desirable.
