Manager Materials Management - Full Time Days

Duties of an Instructional Support Assistant in Materials Management may include the following but are not limited to:

  • Plans, directs and organizes all SMS staff on a daily basis.

  • Maintain the ordering process and requisitioning of supplies to include Blanket Order releases, reqs and EDI.

  • Oversees requisition replenishment ensuring all orders are filled within 2 hours of request time.

  • Conducts CQI activities to ensure maximum efficiency levels.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment which is conducive to sterile supplies.

  • Assist with 2-Bin, X-cart, Bulk and req distribution activities when required.

  • Maintains consistent staff documentation and communication up to date (i.e. timesheet sign-off, attendance requests, evaluations, new programs, etc.)

  • Assist in the completion of the Scan/Pick/Deliver System.

  • Assist as needed in special projects, opening of new nursing units, etc.

Qualification

Required: Must be proficient in ordering medical supplies from vendors via Lawson. Five years of’ experience in performing cycle counts (perpetual inventory). Capable of assessing, ordering and maintaining inventory levels. Must be familiar with JCAHO and DOH regulations.

Preferred: Associates Degree. Five years of supervisory experience in a hospital environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in maintaining a Two-Bin (Kan-Ban) system. Advanced knowledge in Lawson and Crystal Reporting.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $49,308.84 - $60,489 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:

  • Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($4000)
