
Manager, Marketing & Communications – Industrial MaintenanceReporting to the Vice President, Strategic Development, the Manager, Marketing & Communications will play a key role in advancing Bird’s subsidiary brands’ market positioning, operational growth, and internal communications and engagement across the Industrial Maintenance portfolio.
This role is deeply integrated with operations, overseeing the Industrial Maintenance external and internal communications and marketing initiatives, in alignment with corporate brand governance, and supporting recruitment execution, and client-facing communications.
This position requires balancing strategic leadership with high-volume, time-sensitive operational support across districts.
This is a full-time, in-office permanent position based in Calgary, AB.
Team Leadership & OperationalSupport
Partner with theIndustrial Maintenance leadership team, to translate operational business strategies into an integrated Marketing & Communications strategy that drives alignedand outcomes-focused deliverables.
Lead a high-performing marketing and communications team aligned to operational priorities
Establish structured intake and prioritization processes that align marketing resources to critical business needs (recruitment, client deliverables, site support)
Manage execution across a high-volume environment, balancing planned campaigns with urgent operational requests
Partner closely withdepartment SMEsto ensure marketing efforts directly enable project success
Provide visibility to leadership through KPIs tied to recruitment performance, campaign effectiveness, proposal support, and brand impact
RecruitmentMarketing
Partner with subsidiary recruitment leadership to develop strategy for, and lead execution of recruitment marketing strategies to support high-volume skilled trades hiring across multiple sites and regions
Develop strategy for and lead execution of campaigns across digital, social, regional, and on-the-ground channels
Align messaging with operational needs, ensuring campaigns reflect project timelines and labour strategy
Support brand positioning to attract top-tier talent in a highly competitive labour market
Track and report on recruitment campaign performance
Ensure all communications comply with applicable regulations (e.g., CASL, privacy standards)
Internal/ ExternalCommunications
Develop the strategy for and lead the execution ofcommunicationsinitiativesthat showcasethe strategic impactthe Industrial Maintenance business unite hasacross the construction industry, whilebuilding institutional knowledgefor internal audiences
Develop site content that reinforces safety culture and performance
Support internal communications to ensure alignment across districts, sites, and leadership teams

Support business development and operations teams with high-quality materials for pursuits and client requests
Brand & Market Positioning
Provide governance and strategic direction for brand application across districts
Lead branding for major initiatives, workforce programs, and strategic growth areas
Maintain strong brand discipline while enabling flexibility for site-specific and client-specific needs
Oversee subsidiary web presence to ensure alignment with offerings and growth priorities
Continuously improve user experience, SEO, and conversion pathways
10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
Proven experience supporting high-volume, time-sensitive demands
Demonstrated success in recruitment marketing and workforce campaign execution
Experience supporting business development, and client-facing deliverables
Strong ability to translate complex operational work into clear, compelling messaging
Exceptional writing and editing skills across executive, client, and workforce-facing communications
Strong project management and stakeholder alignment capabilities
Experience leading teams in fast-paced, multi-priority environments
Technical proficiency in Monday.com, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in construction or industrial maintenance is strongly preferred
