The company is a leading multipurpose terminal operator managing port berths under a long-term concession with the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). It plays a critical role in facilitating Pakistans maritime trade by delivering efficient, reliable, and technology-driven terminal operations. With a strong focus on trade facilitation.
& REQUIREMENTS:
This position will lead commercial strategy and business development initiatives across dry bulk, Agri-bulk, steel products, breakbulk, project cargo, and vehicles. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, improving asset utilization, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market position as Pakistan's leading multi-purpose
cargo terminal.

- Location: East-Wharf Port (Keamari Port), Karachi (On-Site)
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive commercial experience, including business development, sales, marketing, customer relationship management, contract management.
- Nature of Experience: Candidate must hold expertise in handling multipurpose cargo, ports, terminals, shipping, logistics, commodity-related industries, or other relevant commercial environments with a B2B focus.
- Education: 16 Years of educationin Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or related discipline. MBA Preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development & Growth
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to increase cargo volumes,
revenue, profitability, and market share across targeted cargo
segments. - Identify new customers, cargo opportunities, trade lanes, and longterm business partnerships.
- Build and manage sales pipelines to achieve annual commercial targets.
- Explore new markets, commodities, and value-added logistics solutions
to diversify revenue streams.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with key customers including importers,
exporters, traders, commodity houses, steel mills, EPC contractors,
automotive companies, shipping lines, and logistics providers. - Act as the commercial focal point for strategic accounts and ensure
customer retention and business expansion. - Lead customer engagement initiatives and resolve commercial matters
to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management
- Lead negotiations for cargo handling agreements, storage
arrangements, throughput commitments, and strategic contracts. - Develop competitive pricing models, tariffs, and incentive structures
aligned with market dynamics and profitability objectives. - Monitor contract performance, commercial obligations, and associated
risks.
Commercial Performance Management
- Prepare business plans, revenue forecasts, budgets, and commercial
performance reports. - Track key commercial indicators including volumes, revenue, margins,
customer growth, and terminal utilization. - Identify improvement areas and recommend actions to achieve
business targets.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Engineering,
Planning, HSSE, Procurement, and other departments to ensure
effective execution of customer commitments. - Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer
experience, and terminal competitiveness.
People Management Responsibilites:
- Ensure effective administration and discipline for self and team,
including adherence to break schedules, attendance, overtime, leave
policies, and dress code standards. where applicable. - Monitor and manage the achievement of individual and team
- Performance, ensuring accountability and consistent performance
where applicable. - Ensure continuous training and development opportunities for self and
direct reports; mentor and assist junior staff as needed. - Ensure Quality, Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental
Compliance. - Promote & maintain a culture of self and team motivation, engagement, and happiness.
Strategic Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence & Business Planning
- Monitor market trends, commodity flows, competitor activities, and
regulatory developments impacting terminal business. - Conduct commercial analysis and prepare business cases for new
opportunities and investments. - Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decisionmaking.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of cargo volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
Growth of new customers, cargo streams, and strategic partnerships.
Retention and expansion of key accounts. - Successful execution of commercial agreements.
- Improvement in berth, yard, warehouse, and storage facility utilization.
- Accuracy of forecasts, business plans, and commercial reporting.
- Customer satisfaction and market share growth.
