The Market Risk and Product Control (MRPC) is the function under Group Risk Management responsible for financial and risk management support relating to Global Markets businesses across the region within the Bank. This includes, market risk reporting, financial reporting, valuation controls, market data maintenance, market surveillance monitoring, book controls and structured products governance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform trade surveillance check on Global Market trading activities including Off Market Rate, Wash Trade, Front Running, Bond Maximum Holding Period, Bond Round Tripping, Internal Risk Transfer, etc.
  • Support the overseas locations with on the trade surveillance monitoring to ensure process alignment and consistency.
  • Maintenance and control of Front Office systems simple portfolios including creation, closure and periodic ownership attestation, as well as the governance of the Front Office portfolio tree and P&L performance tree setup.
  • Work closely with teams to perform the annual Key Risk Control Self-Assessment (KRCSA) reviewing / testing and monthly Key Operational Risk Indicator reporting.
  • Ad-hoc participation in project initiatives and/or process enhancement mainly responsible for provision of requirements and performance of user acceptance testing,
  • Document and maintain relevant Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) for tasks responsible by the team ensuring they are up-to-date.


Requirements

  • A degree or professional qualification in accounting, business, or related fields
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in banking industry, with exposure in quality assurance and risk control-related function prefers
  • Understanding of financial products across all asset classes, with knowledge on the front-to-back process of handling each product types will be advantageous.
  • Good team player who possesses drive, initiative, have an eye for details and able to work independently under pressure to produce accurate and timely work
  • Good analytical, communication and writing skills
  • Familiar with VBA in Excel, SQL and/or Python programming will be beneficial
  • Knowledge in Murex system ideal but not essential
