Job Description

Schedule: Full Time Day (8am-4pm)

Work Location: Methodist (Onsite)

Department Supported: Public Safety

Primary Responsibilities:

Senior DPS leader for facility/hospital responsible for executive leadership of DPS team. Coordinate and be a resource for the facility leadership team (e.g. CNO, COO, Facilities). Ultimately responsible for DPS operations for the assigned facility, scope, or area. Directs and monitors the quality and effectiveness of operations and projects related to DPS in the facilities and holdings throughout the system. Ensures compliance with relevant safety regulations for Corporate Real Estate facilities (e.g. emergency drills).

Benchmarks:

3 months - Achieve understanding of the initial job roles
6 months – Utilizing time to lead and guide teams
12 months - Competent in guiding teams as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of experience.
  • Leadership experience required.
  • If role requires law enforcement duties , ILEA/sworn officer required (active law enforcement certification, Tier I or Tier II or equivalent).
  • Have never had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked.
  • Not currently on suspension or have a voluntary surrender of law enforcement license currently in effect.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits professional behavior that reflects IU Health values, both on and off duty.
  • Directly manage assigned supervisors and officers during day-to-day operations of their shift, hospital, or facilities.
  • Perform complex administrative work directing the operational activities of the regional DPS departments.
  • Supervision of management personnel who are engaged in directly leading regional DPS team members in hospitals, facilities, or divisions of the department.
  • Counsels, coaches, and evaluate assigned supervisors and officers on their shift, hospital, and facility. This includes the completion and issuance of disciplinary actions as appropriate.
