Blood Cancer United is a mission centric, locally delivered and nationally powered organization, relentlessly pursuing cancer cures. To help achieve this mission, this role is responsible for providing internal support of essential operational activities that drive success for fundraisers, donors, and internal business partners to ensure region staff can effectively and efficiently raise funds to support Blood Cancer United’s mission.
Core Responsibilities/ Primary Duties
Mail & Revenue Operations
• Oversee daily processing of mail and revenue, including correspondence, checks, lockbox deposits and wires, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational guidelines.
• Manage National Office mail forwarding operations and develop a strategic plan to eliminate forwarded mail.
• Ensure revenue is processed daily on site and in accordance with compliance and internal control requirements.
• Support regional teams with offline fund management, including timely and accurate processing of revenue from territories and national lockboxes.
Cash Flow, Collections & Reporting
• Implement collection strategies to reduce outstanding receivables and improve cash flow.
• Partner with donors and financial institutions to ensure timely payment and positive stakeholder experiences.
• Reduce physical check volume by transitioning payers to ACH and other electronic payment methods.
• Develop and maintain aging reports, collection forecasts, and analytics related to payments received.
Research, Reconciliation & Financial Controls
• Research unclaimed donations to determine proper allocation.
• Review wire and DAF reports, collaborating with regional staff to resolve and allocate unclaimed funds.
• Oversee the timely processing of journal entries and fund transfers accurately and in accordance with organizational policies.
• Submit cash receipt templates to the National Office to ensure proper revenue allocation.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive donor and financial information.
Process Improvement & Service Delivery
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the Mail Center.
• Create standardized processes and efficiencies for donation and mail processing.
Manage inbound requests and issues through ticketing software, ensuring resolution within established SLAs.
• Monitor departmental goals, timelines, and service metrics to ensure operational excellence.
Leadership & Team Management
• Supervise, train, mentor, and develop Mail Center staff.
• Plan staffing assignments to effectively manage workload and ensure continuous coverage.
• Manage team escalations and provide timely support to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure lockbox and operational coverage during staff absences or vacancies.
• Maintain awareness of process changes, system updates, and quality expectations.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a directly relatable role
• Prior Blood Cancer United experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Blood Cancer United mission, products, and services preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience supervising staff in mailroom, finance operations, shared services, or payment processing environments.
• Strong knowledge of revenue processing, cash handling, and internal controls.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Enthusiastic, initiative-taking and committed to excellence.
• Managing change in a matrixed organizational structure
• High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

We are excited to share the base pay range for this position is $65K to $94K. The offered compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Blood Cancer United we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the current compensation of similarly situated roles and direct team members. Base compensation is only one component of our Total Rewards program, which also includes an annual incentive plan and a competitive benefits package.
