Job Description

About the Role

As Manager, Compliance you will play a key role in supporting BOQ Group's Compliance Advisory team by providing independent oversight, advice and constructive challenge across our customer facing and group function divisions. Acting as a trusted Line 2 Compliance partner reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance, you will work closely with business stakeholders, Line 1 Risk and Line 2 leaders to ensure compliance and conduct risks are effectively identified, assessed and managed.

You will provide compliance subject matter expertise on issues, incidents, business initiatives, and change programs, helping ensure regulatory obligations are met and compliance considerations are embedded into decision-making and operational practices.

You will review and analyse risk events, compliance cases, customer remediation activity, obligation mapping, product developments, complaints, breach data and emerging issues to identify key themes, trends and areas of conduct and compliance risk focus for the divisions.

While this role provides insights from reported breaches, it is not responsible for breach determination or breach reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance you will also provide Line 2 SME input and challenge on the impact of regulatory change for the divisions, supporting the business to accurately interpret, map and embed obligations into processes and controls.

Leveraging data, insights and governance reporting, you will provide objective challenge and oversight in support of strong compliance insights and outcomes. You will also contribute to divisional risk governance reporting, ensuring key compliance risks, themes and emerging issues are clearly articulated and escalated through appropriate governance forums.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will support the ongoing uplift and effectiveness of BOQ Group's Compliance Risk Management Framework, policies and processes.

You will help the business understand and respond to regulatory change, ensuring obligations are appropriately interpreted, mapped and embedded into controls and processes. As a credible and pragmatic advisor, you will foster a strong culture of compliance and conduct risk awareness, building capability and supporting business outcomes that align with both regulatory expectations and BOQ Group's values.

About You

You are an experienced risk or compliance professional with a strong understanding of compliance and conduct risk management within the banking or financial services sector. With at least five years' experience in a Line 1 Risk or Line 2 Compliance environment, you bring sound knowledge of financial services regulation, including obligations under the Corporations Act, ASIC Act, National Credit Code and Banking Code of Practice. You have a proven ability to independently support compliance initiatives, regulatory change and risk management activities, balancing customer outcomes, regulatory requirements and business objectives to deliver practical and effective solutions.

You are a collaborative and influential stakeholder manager, comfortable providing advice, challenge and insights across a range of business and governance forums. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to assess complex risk and compliance matters, while your attention to detail ensures high-quality outcomes.

With experience across risk, control and obligation management frameworks, and proficiency using GRC platforms, you can confidently interpret data, identify emerging risks and communicate key messages in a clear and concise manner. Above all, you are aligned to BOQ Group's values and are passionate about protecting customers, supporting strong risk culture and driving positive compliance outcomes across the organisation.
