Manager, Legal Operations and Services

Location: Morristown, NJ (Hybrid)

Join Lonza’s North American Legal team and help shape how we operate, innovate, and deliver legal services. In this role, you will drive efficiency, lead key initiatives, and support strategic priorities.

What you will get:

  • The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $105,000 – $130,000. In addition, below you will find a comprehensive summary of the benefits package we offer:

  • Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge

What you will do:

  • Lead legal operations across North America, improving processes and how the team manages resources

  • Drive legal technology initiatives, including matter management systems, legal holds, AI tools, and e-signature platforms

  • Manage and develop a small team of paralegals, supporting performance and career growth

  • Oversee confidentiality agreements (CDAs) and corporate governance activities across North American entities

  • Manage budgets, including forecasting, tracking spend, and optimizing legal resources

  • Coordinate outside counsel, including engagement, fee planning, and performance analysis

  • Support strategic and sensitive projects, including mergers and acquisitions

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience in an in-house legal or similar environment

  • Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting and reporting

  • Confidence using legal technologies, with interest in learning new tools, including AI solutions

  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with internal teams and external partners

  • Proven leadership and team development experience

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgment
