Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 plus bonus and incentive stock options

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Manager, Legal Operations will support and improve the legal team’s operational processes, systems, and workflows to help the department operate efficiently and scale with the business.. This role will oversee legal processes, technology platforms, workflows, reporting, contract lifecycle management, outside counsel operations, and knowledge management to improve consistency, visibility, and execution across the function.

The ideal candidate brings strong legal operations and project management experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with the ability to implement practical systems, streamline cross-functional workflows, and support complex business operations. This role partners closely with Legal and teams across development, finance, construction, procurement, compliance, and asset management to drive efficient, business-focused legal support.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the legal team's operations, including intake, matter management, prioritization, workflow design, reporting, templates, playbooks, approvals, and recordkeeping.
  • Serve as the administrator and business owner for the Company's contract lifecycle management ("CLM") platform, including legacy archives, templates, clause libraries, approval workflows, signature processes, dashboards, user training, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve and maintain legal intake processes that help business teams route requests efficiently, provide complete information, and understand expected turnaround times.
  • Assist with reporting and KPI tracking for the General Counsel and the legal team, including matter volume, cycle times, contract status, outside counsel spend, workload distribution, and business team service levels.
  • Partner with the legal team, project finance, development, construction, procurement, finance, asset management, and other teams to improve legal support for project development, financing, construction, procurement, corporate governance, litigation, and operational matters.
  • Coordinate outside counsel operations, including engagement letters, billing guidelines, budgets, accruals, invoice review, spend tracking, and matter setup.
  • Provide legal operations support for corporate governance and entity management processes, including workflow coordination, records organization, filing calendars, board and committee materials, signature authority, and related process tracking.
  • Create and maintain legal team playbooks, standard operating procedures, contract templates, fallback positions, checklists, and self-service resources for business teams.
  • Support implementation, administration, and optimization of legal technology platforms, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, pilot management, rollout planning, adoption, and ongoing administration.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including workflow automation and efficiency tools where appropriate to reduce manual work, improve consistency, and increase legal team capacity.
  • Manage legal team knowledge management, including document storage, naming conventions, precedent organization, legal research repositories, contract metadata, and institutional knowledge capture.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support efficient legal workflows and information sharing.
  • Support budget planning, legal department planning, quarterly priorities, team meetings, and other operational rhythms for the legal function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel or the Company.

Required education and experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management, legal technology, paralegal management, contract operations, business operations, or a related function.
  • Experience building or materially improving legal operations in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience administering or implementing one or more of the following legal technology platforms: contract lifecycle management (CLM), matter management, e-billing, document management, e-signature, or workflow management systems.
  • Strong understanding of contract workflows, approval processes, template management, contract repositories, and legal intake.
  • Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, reporting processes, and executive-ready operational updates.
  • Experience managing outside counsel operations, including budgets, billing guidelines, invoice review, matter tracking, and spend reporting.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to define scope, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and drive work to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing company.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in renewable energy, battery energy storage, infrastructure, project finance, construction, real estate development, utilities, climate tech, or another capital-intensive industry.
  • Experience providing operations support for corporate governance, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, construction, procurement, litigation, insurance, or other legal workflows within an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Experience with AI-enabled legal tools, workflow automation platforms, data room platforms, e-billing systems, and legal analytics solutions.
  • Professional credentials such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management, Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) certification, paralegal certification, or a similar process, change management, legal operations, or project management credential.
  • Demonstrated comfort working with both attorneys and non-attorneys to translate legal requirements into practical, repeatable business processes that can be adopted across multiple functional teams.
