Job Category: Learning and Professional DevelopmentThe American Dental Education (ADEA) is looking to add a talented Manager of Learning Outcomes to its team.
The Manager, Learning Outcomes will develop and manage a streamlined process for collecting, analyzing, and displaying data as it relates to the Office of Learning (OL), with the ultimate goal of developing data analytics and visualization reports that will efficiently display information regarding all Office of Learning processes including all learning programs, evaluations, and awards/scholarships, and other learning programs offered throughout the Association. Analysis of the data will provide a robust foundation for a cross departmental quality improvement process and ensure compliance with the Commission on Continuing Education Provider Recognition (CCEPR-CERP). This individual will partner with the Office of Learning team members and others, as they collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design and implement professional development programs for ADEA’s members. This role will serve as a support staff liaison to maintain compliance and produce reports related to the requirements of the CCEPR – CERP.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Develop reports, data visualization materials, and other informational documents to analyze the effectiveness of programs in the Office of Learning. This requires collaboration across teams, resource management, and strategic decision-making. This will include:
- Develop specifications for the reports and data visualization, including data points that will initially include total Continuing Education (CE) credits assigned to members, presentation domains, presenter names, learning outcomes, presentation format, the number of hours of presentations (individual and collectively). Other metrics including KPIs will be added. Dashboards may be developed over time, including a CE transcript service for members.
- Prepare and automate trends and outcomes reports on all learning programs offered by ADEA. Develop and implement a streamlined process in the creation of reports to support the ADEA Continuing Education Advisory Committee (CEAC) and CCEPR-CERP. Develop a process to decrease the time between the educational program and the final report including relevant analytics. Increase the accessibility of the reports and data visualizations to all ADEA staff and CEAC members. Create, circulate, and finalize all trend and outcomes reports.
- Identify appropriate software, utilizing existing ADEA software where possible (e.g., Tableau, PoweBI, Boxi) and develop a seamless process to integrate reports and data visualization into existing ADEA programs.
- Develop OL data workflows as they relate to data collection, analysis and reporting for all OL programs, scholarships and awards, and processes, collaborating with ADEA staff in OL as well as interdepartmentally. Data workflows will incorporate information including: Trends and Outcomes, CERP processes, CEAC processes, scholarships and awards, and all programs.
- Develop SOPs that are both narrative and diagrammatic, clearly outlining the process and timeline for each of the workflows.
- Explore and implement methods for data collection, analysis and reporting within the Association’s membership database and learning management system, including areas for integration among systems and ongoing enhancements to support high-quality data analysis.
- Work closely with other ADEA staff who manage data to coordinate efforts for acquisition and retention of data for CCEPR-CERP.
- Support the Director, Leadership Programs with the ADEA Continuing Education Advisory Committee (ADEA CEAC), including report development, meeting management, and drafting agendas and minutes.
2. At the discretion and approval of the Senior Chief, assist OL staff with the management of a streamlined application and award process which may include:
- Updates on the ADEA website.
- Application processing in OpenWater and correlating judging site.
- Automated notifications for acceptance, interview dates/times.
- Notifications to award recipients and processing award distributions.
3. Other activities as assigned:
- Coordinate the Office of Learning’s logistics, program and event submissions, Division of Communication and Membership (DCM) requests, receptions, BGSEs, signage, and shipping for Annual Session and other meetings, as necessary.
- Coordinate the planning and setup of Office of Learning marketing materials.
- Work closely with other Office of Learning staff to plan and manage meetings as directed.
- Provide technical support in the management of ADEA eLearn webinars, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Outcomes for First 6 Months
- Conduct a systematic review of current learning programming and offer suggestions and implementation strategies for improving data collection, management, and reporting.
- Conceptualize operating procedures and systems related to the management of trend and outcomes reports, and other materials for CCEPR-CERP eligible continuing education offerings at ADEA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional education and experience is required.
- Strategic thinker, with 5 years of experience in project, program, and/or data management. Three years of experience plus a graduate degree may be substituted,
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project and program management capabilities and experience.
- Knowledge of software utilization and report and visualization creation.
- A problem-solving mindset, process-oriented individual who can help design solutions to ensure smooth running of the department.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, data analytics and data visualization.
- Must have expertise in Qualtrics (or comparable platform), Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe PDF and videoconference/meeting software such as Zoom/Teams.
- Must have the ability to learn new technologies as needed.
- Must be self-motivated, confident, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
- Must possess excellent judgment and professional discretion with information.
- Ability to demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy, with strong interpersonal and communicative skills.
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, deadline orientation and flexibility required.
- Must possess the ability to work in a diverse team environment, collaborate effectively with others, the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and the ability to remain positive and productive in demanding situations.
- Ability to work a hybrid work schedule. The current schedule is 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the DC office and ability to work 1 day remotely (Friday). Must have the flexibility to work at ADEA’s DC office as needed to facilitate member programming on site as requested.
- Must be able to travel to member meetings to support ADEA events, as needed, including some weekends.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working in an academic, association or a non-profit environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in dental education/medical education preferred.
- Past experience in developing educational assessment reports.
This position's salary range is $66,000 to $74,000.
