What We Offer

The Satellite Laboratory Manager has 24 hour accountability and responsibility for laboratory operations in the Clinical Core Sciences across the network including Pender Medical Center, Scotts Hill Medical Center, NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital, etc. The manager is responsible for planning, standardizing, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, coordination, and human resource activities. The manager assures quality of laboratory testing, ensures the education and development of staff and students, and assists technical staff as a technical resource.

The Satellite Laboratory manager has control over all human, financial, and informational resources allotted to the cost center, and consults with the medical director for advice and input. Working with the Senior Director of Laboratory Services and other Laboratory and network managers, they implement the strategic initiatives of the organization.

The autonomy of the manager is provided and ensured by the Senior Director of Laboratory Services. The manager assures that the standards of the CAP, AABB and DNV are met. The manager is also responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with CLIA and laboratory billing. The Satellite Laboratory manager has direct reports including Medical Lab Assistant I and IIs, Technical Section Leads, Medical Lab Scientists and Medical Laboratory Technicians.


What We're Looking For

  • Education 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Medical Technology/ Medical Lab Sciences.
  • Experience 3 years management or supervisory position, required. 8 years laboratory experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification MLS (ASCP) or Equivalent, required. Specialty Certification, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required) There should be a record of demonstrated successful performance with progressive increase in the level of responsibilities.
