The Manager, IT Supplier Management is responsible for leading ALSAC's Information Technology supplier management function, overseeing the strategy, governance, performance, and commercial management of technology suppliers across software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, telecommunications, consulting, and managed services.

This role serves as a key partner to IT leadership, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders to ensure supplier relationships deliver measurable business value, support organizational priorities, mitigate risk, and optimize technology investments.

The Manager will lead both strategic and operational supplier management activities, including vendor selection, RFx processes, contract negotiations, renewals, performance management, supplier governance, spend optimization, and supplier relationship management. This leader will drive the continued maturity of ALSAC's IT supplier management practices while ensuring effective execution of day-to-day supplier operations.

This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who combines strong business acumen, negotiation expertise, relationship management skills, and technology industry knowledge to deliver exceptional supplier outcomes.

What You'll Do

Strategic Supplier Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve IT supplier management policies, standards, processes, and governance practices.
  • Drive supplier management maturity, operational efficiencies, and technology spend optimization initiatives.
  • Establish supplier performance measurement frameworks, scorecards, reporting, and supplier tiering models.
  • Evaluate market trends and supplier capabilities to support strategic technology decisions.

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Lead strategic relationships with technology suppliers, consulting partners, and service providers.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and hold suppliers accountable for contractual obligations, service levels, performance commitments, and business outcomes.
  • Manage supplier escalations, dispute resolution, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster collaborative supplier partnerships while maintaining strong governance and accountability.

Contract, Sourcing & Commercial Management

  • Lead vendor evaluations, RFx activities, supplier selection processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), renewals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and other supplier agreements.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Information Security to ensure contracts align with organizational requirements and mitigate risk.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, optimize licensing, and increase purchasing leverage.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Monitor supplier spend, budgeting inputs, forecasting activities, and invoice management processes.
  • Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value optimization opportunities across the technology portfolio.
  • Evaluate supplier financial viability, operational performance, and market conditions to proactively mitigate risk.
  • Maintain supplier risk, performance, and spend data to support business decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with IT leadership, Project Management Office, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on supplier strategy, contract management, sourcing approaches, and vendor governance.
  • Support technology initiatives by ensuring supplier engagements align with organizational objectives, policies, and standards.
  • Deliver training, guidance, and best practices related to supplier management across IT.

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, coaching, prioritization, and development for IT Supplier Management team members.
  • Oversee execution of supplier management services and operational processes.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 year's experience, including managerial experience.
  • Experience developing and managing IT supplier management policies, standards, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Experience managing technology suppliers across software, SaaS, cloud, telecommunications, infrastructure, consulting, and managed services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, vendor performance management, and supplier governance.
  • Proven success leading complex technology contract negotiations and working directly with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Experience managing RFx processes, supplier evaluations, supplier selection, and contract lifecycle activities.
  • Experience establishing supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and executive reporting.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, invoice review, spend analysis, and cost optimization.
  • Experience defining, negotiating, and enforcing service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
