The Opportunity

The IT Manager will be responsible for the administration and day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure and end user computing environment at one of our main production facilities. This role will provide hands-on support, technical guidance, and actively resolve end user service requests within established service level agreements (SLAs) with emphasis on building relationships with internal customers and vendors.

This role will be responsible for the stability, security, and integrity of the IT infrastructure and service operations. The IT Manager will collaborate with all internal departments including the wider IT team to ensure optimal IT operations and adherence to corporate IT standards compliancy and governance. This role will provide leadership in the delivery and deployment of all projects, planning and managing the adoption, and utilization and optimization of technologies to create value for the business.

What you'll do

  • Own administration and day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure and end user computing environment. Ensure effective and efficient IT operations. Manage and respond to user access requests (onboarding/offboarding/change) activities and service requests via ticketing system and escalations and provide walk-up and deskside support.
  • Manage and maintain all IT, network, and telecommunication systems and equipment. Ensure they are up to date and secure. Assist with capacity planning for network bandwidth and storage requirements. Ensure that all systems are backed up and that disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
  • Lead and contribute to delivery and deployment of all IT projects. Conduct testing and monitor efficacy and adoption, identify problems proactively, and surface opportunities to enhance or scale solutions to better support business needs and to improve efficiency overall.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of all IT configurations, changes, processes, and procedures. Provide ongoing training to internal users as new capabilities transition to production.
  • Participate in internal audits to ensure the stability, security, and integrity of IT systems and operations. Support the overall Enterprise Risk management program by ensuring that security and compliance risks are mitigated and is responsible for protecting data from compromise.
  • Provide emergency support on critical operational issues to minimize downtime of systems and help deliver first-class service and support to customers. Ensure timely and efficient response, and KPIs and SLAs are adhered to.
  • Manage IT assets from requisition to retirement, ensure licensing compliance, eliminate waste, and ensure timely refresh of aged IT assets to mitigate business and security risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. Ensure cost-effective acquisition of IT purchases, and high-quality services and support.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.

What you Bring

  • University Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related major.
  • 8+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure administration and operations management, preferably in Manufacturing.
  • Working experience of the following:
    • Microsoft systems/environments (servers and workstations, AD, ADFS, Azure, GPO)
    • Microsoft O365/Teams/OneDrive Administration and use of PowerShell to automate tasks.
    • Virtualized environments (VMware, vSphere, and vCenter)
    • Cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
    • IT Management tools like ManageEngine, ServiceNow, Zendesk
    • Backups: Cloud, Veeam, Acronis, BackupExec or equivalent
    • Telephony & Videoconferencing: RingCentral, Zoom, MS Teams
    • Networking: LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN/ZTN/VPN, Routing and Switching, Wireless, VOIP
    • Network Monitoring tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Logic Monitor, or equivalent
    • Security: Firewalls/ Gateways, EDR/MDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, MFA, IAM, PAM, LAPS, MDM
  • Advanced knowledge of the following:
    • ITIL incident management, problem, and change management
    • Server management such as health check, inventory, backups, and patching
    • Data center physical operations such as network cabling, power management, and security systems
    • Networking practices (Security, TCP/IP, MAC addressing, Routing, QoS), and understanding network services and architecture
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Cyber Security Best Practices
  • Creative problem-solving skills and conflict management
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform job functions under occasional pressure.
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations.
  • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
  • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
  • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.
