The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, IT Security to work in Miami, Florida.
The Manager, IT Security protects the University’s computers, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses or attacks from cyber-criminals, by assessing the security measures to identify any weak points. The Manager, IT Security facilitates the attainment of higher levels of customer service by directing internal teams in the execution of IT initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
Designsimproved work systems by revising work standards, policies,and procedures, employee workmethodandutilization, and staffing levels.
Plays an integral role inhiring, training, counseling,anddeveloping staff
Makes recommendations to IT leadership, peers,and subordinates to improve the workingenvironment
Participates in University operations and projects related to the security and privacy ofITsystems.
Developsandmaintainssecurity and privacy policies forthe University of Miami Health System.
Managestheuserprovisioning and maintenance processesfor EHRs and related IT systems.
Managesthe creation and maintenance of user profiles tocontrolaccessand actions of users.
Managessecurity and privacy monitoring processes in compliance with applicable regulations.
Keeps track of evolving industry standards and regulations related to EHR security and privacy practices.
Implementsandsupportsthose standards and practices that applyor would benefit the University.
Implementsstandard practices that will improve operational security and privacy
Watchesfor organizational or operational changes that might negativelyimpactthe privacy and securityof patient data andtakescorrective action.
Monitorsinternal controls to ensure thatappropriateaccesslevels aremaintained
Auditsthe systems and information management processes toidentifyanybreaches
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit andcompliance withUniversitypolicies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls withinthe function and onUniversitypolicy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.
Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
