About the Role

Join us as Manager, Investment Risk at AIA Investment Management!

We are seeking for a Manager, Investment Risk to support the Head of Investment Analysis & Control in the oversight, analysis, and reporting of portfolio and fund performance and risk across AIAIM-managed and advised portfolios. The role is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and assessment of a designated asset class (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, or Private Assets), ensuring risks are identified, measured, monitored, and reported in accordance with AIAIM's investment risk management framework, while contributing to the effective management of market, credit, liquidity, and environmental risks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct portfolio risk, performance and attribution analysis on portfolios and funds managed and/or advised by AIAIM and overseeing risk-taking activities in line with risk budgets and KPIs/KRIs
  • Assist the Head of Investment Analysis & Control in the transition of processes, reports and analytics to the new risk system
  • Monitor adherence to risk budgets, thresholds and KPIs/KRIs
  • Support new product reviews and risk assessments
  • Assist in governance and regulatory reporting activities
  • Contribute to risk analytics, automation and reporting enhancements
  • Support implementation of the new risk platform and related processes.

Requirements

  • Candidates will preferably hold an MSc degree in a technical discipline (Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics) and possess good analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills CFA/FRM certifications are a plus
  • Minimum 7 years of proven Multi-Asset portfolio risk, performance and attribution experience. Knowledge of Derivative instruments and/or Private Assets and their related Investment Risk analysis is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with the relevant regulatory environment and related requirements. Working knowledge of widely used risk and performance systems, BRS Aladdin and Bloomberg will be viewed favourably.
  • Hands on programming experience in Python/R together with the libraries commonly used for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas in Python, Tydiverse packages in R), with statistical analysis/data science is a plus. Hands-on experience with databases will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to translate complex risk information to diverse audiences
  • Pro-active and team-oriented aptitude
