Reporting to theSenior Manager, Investment Accounting, this role is responsible for managing the Investment Accounting team deliverables, consolidating and interpreting investment business unit financial information and producing key financial statement note disclosure This role involvessignificant collaboration and coordination with the broader Corporate Finance group and the Investment Financeand Operations team The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting and analysis for financial instruments and demonstrate expertise in IFRS accounting and reporting. The person who fills this role will be a key member of the OMERS Corporate Finance team. Our ambitions are high: we aim to be the best corporate finance team in the Canadian pension industry.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Support the corporate investment accounting function, which facilitates the consolidation of investment results and reporting on associated insights; reconciliation of data and provision of operational support to OMERS Investment Finance and Operations
Preparation of key financial statement note disclosures and other internal and external reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.
Reviewing financial statement note disclosures prepared by senior analysts, with strong attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain key movements and underlying drivers.
Researchingand documenting complex accounting and financial reporting issues to support the development of accounting policies and enhancement of financial statement presentation, with a particular focus on financial instruments.
Developing a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders, including business partners and external auditors.
Identifying opportunities for operational improvements and to leverage automation tools to increase the control environment and efficiency of recurring processes.
Ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of process documentation and strong internal controls over financial accounting and reporting.
Continuous learning and understanding of investment strategies and transactions; applying learnings to the OMERS financial statements.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.The expected salary range for this position is $103,000.00 - $157,000.00 per year.
