Secretary’s Department supports governance, accountability and transparency across the RBA. It provides advice, coordination and specialist services spanning internal and board governance, parliamentary engagement, government relations, corporate disclosures and freedom of information.
The department works closely with senior leaders and teams across the RBA to strengthen decision-making, meet statutory and public accountability obligations and maintain public trust in the institution. It also provides secretariat support to the RBA’s three boards, the Audit and Risk Committee and Executive Committee.
This newly created role, will lead the operational delivery and continuous improvement of the RBA’s internal governance arrangements. As Manager, Internal Governance, you will support the Senior Manager, Governance and FOI (Freedom of Information) and help embed a new enterprise function and develop effective practices for management committees, accountabilities, delegations and decision-making.
Operating with substantial autonomy, you will work with senior stakeholders to understand governance issues, develop proportionate and practical solutions, and lead implementation from design through to adoption. You will calibrate delivery to the RBA’s needs, listen to feedback and focus on arrangements that are fit for purpose and sustainable.
A tertiary qualification in law, governance, economics, business, public policy or a related discipline is required. A relevant governance professional qualification would be desirable.
This role will appeal to an experienced governance professional who enjoys building new capability, solving complex problems and turning sound governance principles into practical arrangements.
