WHO YOU ARE

The Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the design, maintenance, and implementation of the GlobalHealth server and networking infrastructure. This role ensures the availability and security of server and network resources, and their impacts all the way to the user desktop. This role proactively performs capacity planning and identifies streamlining opportunities. Directly, and through delegates, this role then plans, designs, and implements network infrastructure changes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Takes corporate vision and architects the technology strategy to meet the needs. Owning the process from start to finish.
  • Manages Engineers, Administrators and team members from vision to completion of technology.
  • Works directly with IT Security to prevent, remediate and eliminate security vulnerabilities in company network and systems.
  • Provides operational day-to-day technical support, system implementations, technical guidance, and regular monitoring of all information systems.
  • Designs, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks.
  • Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
  • Evaluates and recommends hardware and operating system configuration requirements.
  • Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment. Provides technical support and guidance to users.
  • Maintains both physical and cloud solutions as they relate to the overall infrastructure architecture.
  • Provides Tier 3 technical guidance of escalated tickets to resolution.
  • Responsible for vendor management including quoting, budgeting and procurement.
  • Creates, maintains, and facilitates Infrastructure budget.
  • Provides personnel planning including interviewing and selection of candidates.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of business information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA and company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years working in an infrastructure management capacity
  • Experience with Windows VM, Hyper-V, Red Hat Linux and Cisco networking equipment
  • Preferred experience in cloud solutions such as Azure and AWS
  • High level technical certifications preferred ie, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, Linux, VMWare etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to architect, administer and troubleshoot systems in a highly complex multiple platform networked environment, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
  • May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist
  • Background with the maintenance and management of backup solutions, including tape, NAS, and cloud, and the proper application of any combination of these
  • Background with telephone system implementations, particularly IP Telephony, and their impact and tuning within a given network architecture
  • Must be highly organized with excellent technical aptitude and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute duties and responsibilities with little or no supervision
  • Use and management of a Ticket Management system in an ITIL environment
  • Creation, adherence, and management of SLAs
  • Ability to execute duties and responsibilities in an organized and effective manner
  • Familiar with ITIL standards and SLA measures

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme temperatures, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate, and includes sounds of normal office equipment, (computers, printers, telephones, etc.). Offsite work will be performed primarily in a data center setting, with higher average noise ratings and lower average temperatures
  • Duties are performed while standing, walking, bending down, and sitting. Most duties can be accomplished while sitting. Work includes occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds, (computer equipment, computer paper, files, etc.). Duties require finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and normal range of vision and hearing, for the safe operation of computer equipment.

TRAVEL

Occasional travel required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Manages Infrastructure team.
