What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Lead Industrial Hygiene and Safety programs and co-lead high-level projects, conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement best practices
Monitor compliance and Environment, Health & Safety performance, report key metrics, and recommend corrective actions
Provide technical support and training for site safety and industrial hygiene programs
Assist in performing risk assessments to include occupation risk, process hazard Analysis (PHA, HazOp, FMEA, What-if, etc.).
Assist in implementing effective EHS cultural improvement and engagement activities.
Interact with Pfizer Legal Groups, including Global Environment, Health & Safety legal, and liaise with regulatory compliance organizations.
Implement risk reduction strategies and offer advice on implementing Pfizer Health & Safety standards, site safety policies, and regulations governing safety
Conduct workplace condition assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal and state occupational safety and health standards
Evaluate the effectiveness of actions taken to prevent personal injuries
Partner with site business functions (engineering, operations, etc.) and external sources to implement improvements, apply skills and discipline knowledge, and make decisions to resolve moderately complex problems
Effectively time manage to meet objectives, forecast, and plan resource requirements for divisional projects
Utilize EHS systems (e.g., Cority, Enablon, AI agents, etc.)

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA/BS with at least 4 years of experience or MS/MEng/MBA with at least 2 years of experience or PhD/JD with any years of experience or associate's degree with at least 8 years of experience or high School Diploma (or Equivalent) with at least 10 years of relevant experience
Strong technical experience implementing industrial hygiene, safety and environmental programs and key processes is required
Demonstrated working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines associated with EHS compliance.
Excellent leadership, analysis, judgment, commensurate with position responsibilities
Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
Excellent written and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):
A master's degree in science, engineering, technical or related areas combined with substantial project management experience
Professional related certifications from accredited organizations such as the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Board of Certified Safety Professionals or the National Safety Council, Institute of Hazardous Material Management (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, IH, EIT, PE, PMP, etc.)
Experience managing facility and/or contractor safety programs in a pharmaceutical or related industry
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
Experience with regulatory compliance and liaising with regulatory organizations
Strong technical support skills for site safety and industrial hygiene programs
Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to general laboratory and/or manufacturing areas; work near moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and lift and carry up to 25 pounds for limited distances.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Job is in support of a 24-hour/7-day operation and weekend/overnight support may be needed on a limited basis.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,200.00 to $165,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
